2023 California State Games Stats, Data, Metrics
Brogan Enos SS / C / Willow Glen, CA / 2024Rankings StateRank: 301 / POS: 68
Good player at all three INF spots and also showed big time versatility as a catcher. Blocked well, threw well, frankly, it was impressive how well he caught when he hadn't been behind the plate much recently (due to other catcher injuries he was asked to play the spot and he didn't hesitate to do so). So aside from the athleticism and versatility, the bat speed (70.3 max) and 95 mph max EV, and skill on the dirt, his baseball make-up showed up big time. |
Logan Fox OF / 1B / Roseville HS, CA / 2024A physical switch-hitter, short arm swing can provide consistency and barrel control. From a unique profile perspective, the only S/L player I recall at MLB level is Nick Swisher. Having seen Fox at a 3-day event earlier in the summer, we saw quite a bit of him and from the left side of the plate, the bat plays quite well and again, consistently. On the right side he's more contact oriented, with a gap gap approach. On the left side there is more extension and umph in the swing, with flatness and finish. |
Jason Harris SS / Franklin, CA / 2026Rankings StateRank: 60 / POS: 18
The first 2026 grad to appear in these spotlights, Harris is a player who is hard to stop watching when he's on the field. A rangy SS and athletic 2nd baseman, his strong arm plays across the diamond and also at 2B when moving AWAY from 1st base. A left-handed hitter, Harris has patience at the plate and strong bat to ball skills. Had a strong varsity season hitting at or near the top of the line-up for one of the state's best teams. Slashing stroke, all field hit-ability. Winning type player. |
Houston McCray OF / Davis HS, CA / 2024Rankings StateRank: 346 / POS: 58
A lean and wiry strong build, he's got some twitchiness and electricity in his game. From having seen McCray in game action and having coached a team opposite his, we didn't see the best of him at State Games. We did see the footspeed and good arm, we saw the ability to range in the OF. Swing works gap to gap with line drive plane, while having the ability to hit quality left-hand pitching. Hard nosed style of play, gritty and competitive. |
Konnor Rodnick C / Cardinal Newman, CA / 2024One of the most 'comfortable' catchers for pitchers to throw to in his class. Rodnick sets up low, is quiet, has strong soft hands and massages pitches on the fringes of the zone. Flexible hips and lower body joints, he blocks well and in the area he needs to be good in, his range for the position is strong. The raw arm isn't massive but he gets the ball out quick and simply gets it underway, with high level accuracy. Offensively he's got and RBI man type of profile, heavy barrel, can battle and can punish mistakes. |
