The series opener between College of Southern Nevada and Colorado Northwestern Community College started with quiet bats on both sides, thanks to a pitchers duel between Coyote right hander, Joey Magrisi, and Spartans freshman, Zachery Radigan. The game broke open in the 5th inning when a pair of gritty at-bats that both ended up in walks by local product, Colby Smith, and UNLV recruit, Joey Walls, was followed up by a three run blast over the left field scoreboard by future Oregon Duck, Dax Fellows. Southern Nevada added five more throughout the inning with the help of a "Little League" homerun as the Colorado Northwestern dove and missed a line drive in front of him rolling all the way to the center field wall, bringing in the two base runners with Uncommitted Jacob Godman coming all the way around. The game ultimately concluded with a John-Howard Bobo single to right field that brought in the tenth and final run in the Run Rule effort.
