FRESNO, CALIF. - As an open event, this was conducted as a straight traditional showcase, 60 yard run, BP round (with Blast Motion sensors and TrackMan utilized for gathering of various data and metrics), defensive workouts, and pitchers ending the day on the mound throwing 15-20 pitch sessions.

Isaiah Barrett, St. Mary's (CA), 2022
Positional Profile
: OF/2B/P
Physical
: 5-9, 165-pounds; Muscular, proportional build. 7.51 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet wide spread; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a heel lift for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two-handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 89 MPH via Trackman. Consistently hits ball hard, maxes out present strength, hits hard to all fields, somewhat hitterish presence.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are out in front while staying low during transfer. Short take back from a high-3/4 arm slot. INF - 82 MPH. OF - 85 MPH. OF approach is similar, squares up, fields out front, aggressive move to the ball, arm stroke a bit deeper, aggressive thrower at both INF and OF, true utility profile as OF/INF.

Derek Von Allman, Dos Palos  (CA), 2022

: 5-10, 170-pounds; Athletic, muscular build. 7.59 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; flat bat to start. Loads straight back with a slight leg-kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with two-handed finish. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman. Smooth stroke, able to spray ball around, consistent barrel contact, has ability to accelerate the barrel when getting his pitch.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; walks into ready position while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a high-3/4 arm slot. OF - 81 MPH. Athletic OF actions, creates clean angles to get off throws that were more accurate than not.

Jaden Carrillo, Clovis (CA), 2023

: 5-11, 165-pounds; Athletic, lean build. 7.13 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a heel lift for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a direct swing path with two-handed finish. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 90 MPH via Trackman. Showed feel of the barrel, works inside the ball and on-plane, contact oriented stroke with hints of some future physicality diven strength gains.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep step while being aggressive. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high-3/4 arm slot. OF - 80 MPH. Quick burst to ball, light feet get him in proper angles to get off consistently accurate throws utilizing one hops to the bag.

Zach Milhous, Monache, (CA), 2022

Physical: 5-8, 150 pounds; Athletic, lean build. 6.89 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Loads straight back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a flat swing path with a one-handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Hands start high and do well to stay above the ball.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep step while playing low to the ground. Hands are out in front while staying low during transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 74 MPH. OF - 79 MPH. Longer arm action in the OF, similarly athletic feet while also fielding ball out front on the move, fluid actions.

Trevor Van Ornum, San Joaquin Memorial (CA), 2023

: 6-0, 175-pounds; Athletic, proportional build. 7.70 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Loads straight back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a flat swing path with a high finish. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 96 MPH via Trackman. Showed consistent ability to make hard barrel contact, gets hips into stroke, tall throughout the swing which tends to keep barrel to middle/top half of ball.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while sitting back. Hands are off to the side with a delay in transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. OF - 78 MPH. Early burst to ball before laying back a bit as he sets up get catch and get off throw, displayed clean glove and angles.

Isaiah Herrera, Valley Christian (CA), 2023

: 5-9, 165-pounds; Average, muscular build. 7.47 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; upright bat position. Extended take back of the hands with a heel lift for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two-handed finish with occasional top hand release. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 94 MPH via Trackman. Consistent hard barrel contact, keeping swing on plane with upward attack angle, consistency of well-above avg Blast metrics is favorable for future projection.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while utilizing a quick first step. Hands are off to the side with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high/over the top arm slot. OF - 74 MPH. Calm smooth approach, direct angles, in control to and at the ball, accurate and a release time that maximizes his raw arm strength.
