CHICO, CA - We made a trip up to California's Far North region on 2/1/20, one of our January stops on the road to the California State Games. The event had a roster of nearly 40 players in attendance. As per usual, the players were put through a pro-style workout that included the 60-yard sprint, a round of batting practice, defensive workouts at respective positions, and concluded with bullpen sessions for pitchers.

Most of the players were attending their first ever PBR California event, giving us a first look at these players in a showcase setting. Some we had seen in previous game action and a couple we had seen in other PBR events, as well at the Area Code tryouts last summer.

Hit: RHH. Early load behind the ball, quiet still hands, mild knee lift to stride, sees ball well, bat speed is present, best swings were when he stayed in the middle, displayed ability to swing with balance, barrel occasionally in/out of the zone, physical maturity will certainly enhance the tools
Power: 75 mph EV off tee
Arm: RH - 71 OF - Circular and clean backside arm action, carry was fairly minimal
Defense: Clean approach to the ball, patterned feet well, athletic crow up, measures ball well
Run: 7.47 60-yard

Hit: LHH. Quiet balanced load with good weight distribution, small toe tap w/minimal stride, stays behind ball, aggressive finish through contact & throws barrel well, good top hand to finish, made consistently good contact, focused BP round, sees the ball well, quality looking young hitter
Power: 76 mph EV off tee
Arm: LH - 76 OF - Clean quick arm action, chance to develop well above 80 mph
Defense: Light feet, occasionally too many choppy unpurposeful steps, good throwing mechanics w/good out front release, when he tracked it well the feet were smooth and gliding
Run: 7.23 60-yard

Arm: RH - 86 OF - Clean, strong, quick arm produces throws w/plenty of carry, more velo ahead
Defense: Full body use to get off powerful throws, aggressive to and throw the ball creating good athleticism and momentum, can work to eliminate an extra step to get the throws off
