NorCal Player of the Week: OF Nick Vogt

Blaine Clemmens
Northern California Director of Scouting

2019 OF Nick Vogt (Davis HS) has been named this week’s Prep Baseball Report Northern California Player of the Week due to his standout performance in helping to lead his team to two wins in two games this past week.

Combined (vs Vacaville HS & Yuba City HS), Vogt came to the plate a total of eight times and reached base seven times. A UC Santa Barbara commit, Vogt was 3-for-3 vs Vacaville with two triples, a double, and also walked one time, with three runs scored and an RBI.

In the Yuba City game, he was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, two runs scored, and three RBI.  After teammate Ryan Holgate was walked to intentionally load the bases with two outs, Vogt promptly unloaded them with a double that tied the game 5-5. He walked in the bottom of the 6th inning and eventually scored what would be the go-ahead and winning run. For good measure Vogt also threw out the potential go-ahead run to end the top of the 6th. His defense in centerfield was strong all week and for the season he has been flawless in the field.

For his efforts, Vogt has been named the Prep Baseball Report NorCal Player of the Week for the week of March 5-11.

The Prep Baseball Report salutes Nick Vogt's hard work and success for the Davis Blue Devils.
