COVID ended the 2020 season early throughout the State but as things progress quickly for the 2021 high school season, it’s time for us to preview teams from around the State in the Yearly Preseason Preview. Schedules are being adapted to fit the ever-changing landscape and though this season may look different than history has shown us, coaches/staff, players, families, and our team are preparing for 2021 to be as successful as possible. 

We’ve submitted the Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state and their responses have been flooding in. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be using their detailed insight on our team-by-team previews ahead of the 2021 season leading into the California Power 25 Rankings.

SEASON OUTLOOK: 

Quartz Hill High School is going through some changes in 2021 and that starts with coming up with a new mascot. On the baseball diamond, this 2021 Quartz Hill team will be young. Coming off a shortened 2020 season and leaning on the youth has Coach Kavanagh intrigued to see where his team can go in 2021. With limited action and a large influx of young players, Coach Kavanagh will be relying on the front of his staff to lead by experience and bring the younger players around quickly. With only 2 starters from last year, position battles will shape the lineup and playing time for Quartz Hill. Even with a young team, Quartz Hill expects to be competing in the Golden League again in 2021 with an eye on the Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.
