New Episode LIVE now! At The Yard Podcast

COVID ended the 2020 season early throughout the State but as things progress quickly for the 2021 high school season, it’s time for us to preview teams from around the State in the Yearly Preseason Preview. Schedules are being adapted to fit the ever-changing landscape and though this season may look different than history has shown us, coaches/staff, players, families, and our team are preparing for 2021 to be as successful as possible.

We’ve submitted the Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state and their responses have been flooding in. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be using their detailed insight on our team-by-team previews ahead of the 2021 season leading into the California Power 25 Rankings.

SEASON OUTLOOK:

One of the perennial powers in the San Joaquin Section, the Vacaville Bulldogs have built one of the most consistent teams over the past few years and are looking to keep it going in 2021. With a group of players who have grown up around each other and having spent time away from the field together, the team chemistry looks to be an asset for Coach Clary’s Bulldogs this season. Though this team may be younger than some of the year’s past, they’re focused on daily development and believe if that happens they’ll be able to be atop the Monticello Empire League again in 2021. A strong stable of returners including two D1 Commits should shape the offense and defense and the pitching will be led by another D1 Commit with younger arms that may not be known but can continue to improve. How Vacaville comes together in a shortened season should determine how good they can be.
