Our weekly Diamond Notes highlights players that were nominated by their coaches for SoCal Player of the Week award. 

The following players had impressive performances during the week of April 9-15, and though not selected as the Player of the Week, they earned special recognition. Players are listed in no particular order.

Trey Pate (St. Margaret’s HS): The freshman was 8-for-10 with 2 doubles, 3RBI, 3 walks, 4 runs scored

Colin Miehe (St. Margaret’s HS): The sophomore was 5-for-8 with an HR, 4 RBI, 6 runs scored and 2 walks

Troy Melton (Canyon HS) - The senior SDSU commit threw a complete game shutout allowing 3 hits and striking out 3 vs Villa Park. He was also 3-for-7 at the plate

Jacob McClure (Canyon HS): The sophomore third baseman was 3-for-5 with a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI

Conner Davis (Canyon HS): The senior first baseman was 3-for-6 with an RBI

JT Kwart (Canyon HS), The junior RHP went 5 IP with 5 strikeouts allowing 1 earned run in a win over Yorba Linda

Darius Perry (La Mirada HS) The junior catcher was 6-for-11 with 2 home runs and 11 RBI. On the season he has 9 home runs and 47 RBI.

Jonathan Robinson (Rancho Cucamonga HS): At the plate was 5-for-9 on week with 5 RBI, 6 runs scored and 3 HBP. Also pitched one inning striking out two.

Ryan Kurtz  (Rancho Cucamonga HS): Threw 6 innings striking out 7 strikeouts while not allowing a walk or a run in the series clinching win over Los Osos.

Zach Reitmeyer (TRI-CITY Christian HS) The senior P/C was 6-for-9 with 3 doubles, 2 home runs and 7 RBI. Also got a win vs High Tech SD going 5 innings with 5 strikeouts while scattering 3 hits and allowing 1 earned run.

Nathan Nankil (Bonita Vista HS) The sophomore was 5-for-6 with three runs scored, 4 RBI, 2 stolen bases, a triple and a homerun; 11 Total Bases. Also had 1 win throwing 4 innings and allowing 1 earned run.

Devlin Lindeman (Temescal Canyon HS) The junior C/RHP/INF went 3 for 6 with 4 walks, 2 RBIs, and a stolen base. Behind the plate, Devlin picked off 1 runner and threw out 2 of 4 base-stealers. On the mound, he earned a save after throwing 2.2 innings, allowing 0 runs on 2 hits with 1 strikeout.

Adam Armstrong (Glendora HS) The junior RHP went 6 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out while issuing 1 walk in a 12-0 win vs Diamond Bar.

Elias Rios (Cypress HS): The junior CF was 5-for-6 with 4 singles, one triple, five RBI, and five runs scored also had 2 stolen bases.

Michael Marsh (Cypress HS): The junior 2B was 6-for-10 with three singles, one double, one triple, one homerun and six RBI. He also had 2 stolen bases..

Brett Wozniak (Cypress HS): The sophomore LHP threw a complete game one-hit shutout with 3 strikeouts vs JW North.

Isaiah Marquez (San Dimas HS) The sophomore went 9-for-12 with 4 doubles, an HR, 8 RBI and 3 runs scored.

Zach Jacobs (San Dimas HS): The junior pitcher won 2 games pitching 9 innings - 4 Wednesday and 5 on Saturday.  Jacobs came in Saturday with bases loaded 0 outs and got out of the jam without a run scoring, pitched 4 more innings helping the Saints to a 3-0 win in 10 innings. Jacobs now has 10 wins on the year lowering his ERA to .76 in 64.2 IP.

Zach Funkhouser (Valley View HS): The senior pitched a complete game shutout, giving up 2 hits, 2 walks, and striking out 5 in a 2-0 victory over Rancho Verde High School

Chase Pedersen (Arcadia HS): The senior was 4-for-6 on the week vs. Burroughs including 2 doubles, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Pederson also closed out Friday's game to get the save: 2/3 IP, 2 Ks, 6 pitches

Dominick Tello (Arcadia HS): The junior was 4-for-7 on the week with 3 doubles, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored vs. Burroughs.

Grady Tuohy (Villa Park HS): The senior was 3-for-6 with a double, a triple, a hr, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored.

Trent Luther (Yucaipa HS): The junior 3B was 5-for-7 with 4 RBI against Carter HS.

Grady Morgan (Laguna Beach HS): The senior was 2-3 with 3 runs scored and 4 RBI in the Breakers lone game last week.

Cole Wentz (Fountain Valley HS): The sophomore OF/RHP was 5-for-7 with 6 RBI on the week.

Conrad Villafuerte (Fountain Valley HS): The senior was 6-for-8, 2 walks, 2 RBI and 7 runs scored on the week.

Thomas Parker (Heritage HS): The junior was 4-for-7 with a double, a home run and 5 RBI on the week.
