Central Coast Section, CA - The Central Coast Section brackets and seeding have been set creating great matchups in each of the Divisions. Today we will look at five uncommitted players who have the chance to impact the Division 2 Playoffs for their teams. These five players were all seen during the regular season and have displayed skill sets worthy of a roster spot at the next level. Helping their team through a playoff run will could only boost their value.

Uncommitted CCS Division 2 Players

2020 SS Luke Keaschall (Aptos) - An athletic middle infielder with some growing power in his bat, Keaschall was the spark atop the Mariners lineup for much of the season before being moved down to help the team drive in some more runs. He’s a true SS with the ability to stick at the position showing quick feet and plenty of arm strength. Keaschall’s ability to impact the game at every level will be a key need for this Aptos team in a deep playoff bracket.

2022 INF Lucas Kelly (SCHP) - Kelly burst onto the scene as a Freshman in the ultra-competitive West Catholic League and looks like a very high ceiling. The bat-to-ball skills are already present and his ability to make adjustments at-bat to at-bat is advanced for his age. Defensively he’s been at 1B to allow his bat in the lineup but has the arm strength and athleticism to play on the left-side of the diamond or in a corner OF spot.

2020 SS Justin Deal (Monterey) - Deal has the natural rhythm and timing to stick at the SS spot with big range and the arm to make every throw needed. His bat has continued to make improvements as his strength has come into play and been an integral part of the Dores offense this season. He’s also got the ability to come in and close out games, which in a playoff setting is very valuable.

2020 RHP/OF Connor Hennings (Live Oak) - Hennings has the skills to be a true two-way player with the ability to start a game on the hill or in the OF and impact it for the Acorns. He’s long and athletic with the chance for more power in his bat and plenty of arm strength for his natural RF. Look for Live Oak to utilize Hennings on the mound and at the plate to help them try and make a deep run.

2021 C Connor Pawlowski (Pioneer) - The young catcher has shown advanced catch and throw skills this season being comfortable behind the plate and able to shut down opposing teams run games. His bat has the strength to drive the ball for extra-base hits while showing the athletic ability to keep defenses honest. When a veteran group of pitchers trust you behind the plate, you know Pawlowski could impact the Mustangs playoff run.
