Continuing the Prep Baseball California Summer ID series our staff got eyes on several talented players at the Orange County Summer ID on Wednesday, June 5th at Temescal Canyon High School. Players in attendance on our Summer ID series will range from the the '25 graduating class to the '28 graduating class.

Players were put through the traditional showcase workout that included a 60 yard sprint time and Jump Testing on Swift Technology platform, On Field Batting Practice, defensive workouts at their positions and concluded with pitchers throwing an on field bullpen session. Trackman was in use for all hitting and pitching sessions to gather data and help measure their present athletic proficiencies and future projectability. As well, all hitters recorded data using Blast Motion sensors to track their swing metrics.

Summer ID events are designed for players in the '25-'28 to utilize theshowcase structure to interact with our Prep Baseball California staff and allow our staff to evaluate their present athletic ability, baseball tool sets and provide feedback on the development process for these players. Players who stand out at these events receive data packages on their metrics including Trackman, Blast Motion and Swift for position players with Trackman for pitchers. In addition, all players in attendance receive video to be posted into their Prep Baseball profile which gives college coaches around the country access to identify them as a potential recruit. As well, players have the opportunity to earn invites to select Prep Baseball California Invite-only events including: California State Games (our biggest recruiting event), Preseason All-State Events, Uncommitted Games, Top Prospect Games, Future Games Tryouts, ProCase and more.

Here is a first look at some of the standouts from the Orange County Summer ID in this edition of Quick Hits.

Corwin Allard RHP / Tesoro, CA / 2026 Allard presents an athletic 6'1 190 lbs. frame with some present strength to it. He shows arm speed with arm strength in his delivery although there is some length to the operation that presently does effect his control His stuff was impressive with an event best FB up to 88.6 MPH while sitting at 86-87 MPH with downhill action. From there Allard paired a 78-80 MPH CB with 2300+ avg RPMs of spin and 78-80 MPH CHG which he effectively throws with reduced spin rates at 1600 RPMs on avg. There is polish needed to the overall profile, but the tools/foundation are there to make a quality RH arm in the '26 class.

Tomas Bilvado RHP / 3B / San Marino High, CA / 2025 Bilvado was one of the more impressive 2-way players at the event where he showed potential on each side of the game. With a wiry 5'11 160 lbs frame he generates arm speed with some looseness in the delivery and control of his 4 pitch mix. Bilvado utilizes a FB that worked consistently at 87 MPH while peaking at 88 MPH, a pair of breaking balls which showed very good spin rates in his 2800+ RPM CB at 70-71 MPH and 2750+ RPM SLD at 73-75 MPH with a firmer 79-80 MPH CHG as his fourth offering. Tomas showed consistent feel for finding his barrel with some authority through the middle of the field with a 92.8 MPH max EV and 84.1 MPH avg EV and athleticism to stay on the INF dirt including a 7.04 60 time. With room to add strength to his frame and a solid foundation of tools Bilvado is an intriguing uncommitted '25 in Southern California.

Kyle Underwood LHP / OF / SERVITE HIGH SCHOOL, CA / 2027 Underwood was the standout '27 in attendance who showed a well-rounded skill set as a LHP/OF in a presently compact 5'8 165 lbs. frame. On the mound Underwood uses a 4 pitch mix with control of each offering including his 77-79 MPH FB with arm side run, intriguing CHG at 67-69 MPH which showed fade to the arm side with good arm speed in the delivery, a 67-69 MPH which flashed vertical depth to the break and emerging feel for a 67-69 MPH SLD which he works to get horizontal action to the glove side on. His swing showed some sneaky power with a max EV up to 89.2 MPH with leverage to the pull side of the field, but his rhythm and timing will require some polish going forward. Just a '27 out of the Orange County region Underwood is an interesting name to keep eyes on.

Takashi Rutherford OF / RHP / JSerra Catholic, CA / 2026 An athletic RH hitting OF who also worked on the INF dirt Rutherford showed off an impressive toolset throughout his workout. With an athletic 6'3 190 lbs frame and 6.98 60 time with max run speed up to 20 MPH there is plenty of athleticism to project Rutherford to handle CF/RF long term with the arm strength to match reaching 88 MPH with accuracy to his OF throws. Once he stepped to the plate Rutherford showed off present bat speed up to 76.8 MPH while generating torque in his turn at 17.7 G's with pull side HR power from a 98 MPH max EV while generating consistent hard contact at 84.1 MPH on his avg EVs. His overall toolset with athleticism and frame should make Rutherford a highly followed '26 over the summer and into his JR. campaign in the Trinity League for JSerra.

Brise Boop SS / 3B / JSERRA CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, CA / 2026 Another impressive JSerra talent Boop had quite the workout with a 6'4 200 lbs. frame that catches your eye once you see him enter the field. His tools keep your eyes on him as he moved around well at SS during the INF portion of the workout including a 83 MPH INF arm velocity, but is likely better suited for 3B or the corner OF where his 85 MPH OF arm velocity with carry to his throws gives him potential to handle RF. Boop showed strength in his swing that would play to a corner defender profile long term as he reached 97.4 MPH on his max EV while averaging 86.4 MPH throughout BP including pull side HR power. Boop looks to have polish that is still needed to his overall profile, but the foundation he displayed during the workout makes him another interesting Trinity League '26 to keep eyes on.

Lukus Alvarado OF / 1B / El Modena, CA / 2025 An uncommitted '25 out of the Orange County region Alvarado may have taken the best batting practice of the day with consistent loud contact off the barrel of his bat while showing lift and carry to the middle/pull side of the field. Alvarado hit several pullside HRs while peaking at 96.4 MPH and averaging 91.3 MPH on his exit velocities with a feel for his rhythm/timing. He has some present strength to his 6' 185 lbs. frame with athletic ability including a 6.99 60 and 20.4 MPH max run speed that should give him a chance to play all 3 OF spots, but if not CF there is the arm strength to play RF displayed by his 87 MPH OF arm velocity with accuracy to his throws. He has middle of the order offensive potential to add impact to a college lineup as a uncommitted '25.

Carter Rivera 3B / SS / IMG ACADEMY, CA / 2027 Rivera was another '27 who showed well at the event starting with his 5'11 165 lbs frame that showed some wiry present strength to it. He flashed interesting power during BP including a peak EV at 95.9 MPH with pull side HR power, but there is polish needed to the approach/timing that will come with age. He ran a 7.11 60 time and peaked at 19.2 MPH on his run speed while throwing 80 MPH from the OF which all give you the feel of a potential CF going forward with his athleticism and if not CF the arm has the present foundation that could play in RF in the long term. Overall the presently toolset is impressive and the frame catches your eyes as Rivera continues to develop and build on his present foundation there is reason to see a bright future for him if it all stays the course he is on now.

Taison Miller OF / Millikan, CA / 2025 Miller was another '25 uncommitted OF who put together a strong workout. The 5'8 160 lbs. Miller recorded a personal best 6.73 60 time and 20.9 MPH run speed which continues to profile as CF defender athleticism while adding in a 84 MPH OF arm with carry to his throws that will give his arm the ability to handle playing at a premium spot. At the plate he displayed increased power in the bat including a new personal best 91.1 MPH EV with carry to the pullside of the field and a 352' max distance which gives him gap to gap doubles power while his bat speed, rotational acceleration and hand speed all recorded new personal bests. Miller is trending upward into his SR. summer/HS campaign as a LH hitting CF potential defender.
