All Colorado Showcase: Quick Hits - 2021 Hitters (2)

LaSalle, CO-- On May 25, 2020, PBR Colorado enthusiastically welcomed 150+ prospects to the All-Colorado Showcase. 2021’s, 2022’s and 2023’s safely gathered at BigFoot Turf in LaSalle, CO. Today we do a Quick Hits for the 2021 Class of under-recruited Hitters. 

In the days and weeks following this event, we’ve been breaking down the top performances by category, starting with the Class of 2023 Pitchers, the ‘23 Hitters, the ‘22 Hitters, the '22 Pitchers, taking us to today’s topic covers more quality ‘21 Hitters.

By comparison, the 2020 Class had 110 College commitments overall. This 2021 class has 15 commitments at this time. PBR Colorado provides a list of 2021 Hitters worth your time and effort of a follow. 

SS/2B, Blake Wilson (Valor Christian): RHH Great foundation with consistent timing. Hands have direct path. Exit Velo at 87. Middle to pull side tendency. Showed athleticism in the MIF and above average arm strength. Great potential at all infield positions. 

SS/2B, Gavin Schmeh (Brighton): Switch Hitter Attacking style from both sides of the plate. Hands are quick. Timing is great. Middle of the field approach. Comfortable from both sides. Displayed power potential from both sides. Exit Velo 91/93 GREAT defensive actions Highly Ranked in the State 

2B/3B, Drew Salyers (Arapahoe): Open crouched position produces great bat speed and rotational acceleration. Exit Velo 90 Pull side tendency. Great BP round in event. Showed versatility in infield movements. Good Range and arm action 

OF/1B, Conner Camden (ThunderRidge): Long levered and lean. Coiled leg kick and quick hands produced an Exit Velo of 95. Short to Long path. Lots of Potential as Conner continues to develop size and strength 

3B/SS, Caden Potter (Valor Christian): Solid and improving in all parts of the game. Big strong frame with consistent balanced stance. Quick hands, Exit Velo 92 Above average arm strength. Has displayed great actions at 3B 

1B/OF, Cale Claridge (Legacy): Strong frame. Pull side tendency with strength Good Bat Speed Exit Velo 88 Displayed ABOVE AVG arm strength in OF and 1B. 88MPH as Lefty!!!! Would follow as 2Way 

SS/RHP, Jacob Weaver (Fruita Monument): Impressive Athlete with projectable growth. Lean. Produces Excellent rear side acceleration and exit Velo of 97(More to come) Plus hands with direct path and extended finish. Confident hitter! Good movements within INF, could play variety positions. Top Follow/Top performance in showcase 

C/1B, Jose Magallanes (Holly): Strong lower half and pull side tendency. Displayed a powerful BP round in event. Power potential with lift. Small town player, Good catcher to develop! 

3B/RHP, Trevor O’Brien (Broomfield): Solid balanced foundation produces good timing. Direct path with hands and a Gap to Gap approach. Good rear side acceleration Exit Velo 90 Potential at 3B/1B 

3B/RHP, Wyatt Hough (Legend): Strong 5’11” 195 Frame Runs GREAT 6.89 Quick hands with short direct path. Uses lower half and creates great balance and consistency in swing. Exit Velo 93 Avg and Power Potential Top Follow
