2022 Junior State Games: East/North Preview

Our second State Games of 2022 will be underway this weekend with the Junior State Games in Ocala. 2024s from all over Florida will be repping their region for a showcase and 3 games with the winning region taking home Blenders Sunglasses.

Today we will break down who is coming to the 2022 Junior State Games. We will start with the East and North Regions, who will take part in session 1 on Saturday.

East

The East are the defending Junior State Game champions, putting up a dominant 3-0 record. This year's team is another talented squad from the Orlando and East coast areas. Pitching for the East will be Eli Fleming (Pitt), Devin Loor, Christian Borbely, Blayke Rabens, and Shayne Pellin. Behind the plate will be Mason Mojica, Jackson Golden, and Bailey Gutierrez.

In the infield are first basemen Brady Roberts and Dillon Huber. Third base is Jackson Adams and Derek Martinez. Up the middle for the East is Beny Bikar (Southern), Tracen Cameron, Isaac Abalo, Daniel Herrera, and Dylan LeMorta.

Rounding out the East in the outfield is AJ Sierra, Jordan Fernandez, Zachary Fecteau, Sebastian Hichez, and Cody McKinley. The East rolls in with another talented squad and looks to repeat last year’s success.

North

The North Region ranges from the Panhandle, Jacksonville, and Gainesville areas. This 2024 squad is full of two-ways who will make an impact on both sides of the ball. On the mound is RHP Logan Hartman. Behind the dish is Ben Robinson, and Dylan Rex.

In the infield are first basemen Samuel Simonds and Jaylen Williams and third baseman Ben Abram. Up the middle is Collin Briggs, Austin Musgrove, and Joshmar Carbonell. Rounding out the North roster is the outfield featuring Jesse Murrell, Jordan Smith, Dominic Negron, Ashton Sieg, Carter Kerr, and Jensel Nieves.

The North 2024s won last year's Sophomore State Games and return several players from last year’s team.
