2022 Junior State Games: West/South Preview

Our second State Games of 2022 will be underway this weekend with the Junior State Games in Ocala. 2024s from all over Florida will be repping their region for a showcase and 3 games with the winning region taking home Blenders Sunglasses.

Today we will break down who is coming to the 2022 Junior State Games. We will continue with the West and South Regions, who will take part in session 2 on Saturday.

West

The West brings talent from the West coast of Florida ranging from Tampa, Clearwater, St. Pete, Sarasota, and Bradenton. This year’s team will feature a lot of two-way talent who will impact both sides of the ball.

On the mound for the West is LHP Carson VanSweden and RHP Cade Ginder. Behind the plate is Jared Santana and Vance Landry. In the infield, the West features first basemen Chase Perkey and Paul Provencher. At third base is Carson Satin and Jason Ramos. Rounding out the infield up the middle is Noah Campbell, Daniel Spicher, and Zach Merriman.

In the outfield is Aidan Brigato, Ryan Briggs, Jayden Floyd, and Cooper Wright. The West looks to improve on their 2-1 Junior State Games record in 2021.

South

The South region is loaded with talent this year ranging from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach areas. Pitching for the South with be RHPs Jayden Dubanewicz (Florida) and Jeffrey Lopez. Behind the plate is Ernie Echevarria, Dylan Howell, Zain Diaco, and Ethan Askin. In the infield, the South features Ethan Pribramsky at first base and Anthony Tralongo (Auburn), Nikolas Koorse, and Nick Edisis at 3rd Base.
