Florida 2025 Rankings Debut

Rocco Iervasi
Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

Winter is here. Fall baseball is over and the offseason starts now. With that being said school is in full swing, and the 2025 class is halfway through their freshman year of high school.

Last week, our National 2025 rankings were released with 7 Florida boys in the top 50 of the country. Now it is time to release our state 2025 rankings. We’ve compiled a list of 61 players for the 2025 rankings debut. Take a look at who’s at the top.

The No. 1 player in Florida in the 2025 class is SS/RHP Carter Smith. Smith is a tremendous athlete from Bishop Verot HS. A football player as well as a two-way on the baseball field. 6-foot-3, 170 pounds. Upper 80s fastball with a lot of power potential offensively. Big time prospect in the 2025 class.

No. 2 in Florida is SS
Jacob Kendall. Kendall is a Florida commit from Bartram Trail HS. Kendall was a member of Team Florida 13u at the 2020 Junior Future Games and has continued to mature and make tremendous jumps. 6-foot, 155 pounds. Advanced approach offensively from the left side. Shows ability to turn the barrel and use the whole field. Has some juice off the bat to the pull side. Kendall sits neck and neck with Smith in this class making a talented 1-2 punch at the top.

At No. 3 comes OF
Dean Moss. Originally from California, Moss attends IMG Academy in Florida. A recent Vanderbilt commit, Moss has a lot of strength in his swing. Drives the ball with power from the left side. 6-foot, 185 pound frame with added physicality. Has one of the highest offensive ceilings in the class.

No. 4 in the Florida 2025 class is OF/LHP Michael Torres. Torres is a Miami commit from Doral Academy. Athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, Torres has been making noise even before the 8th grade where we saw him in the low 80s from the left side. Added strength and maturity, Torres is now in the upper 80s on the mound and keeps getting better. Offensively, has an easy approach to the ball and consistently finds barrels. Also a 6.6 runner. High upside two-way.

Rounding out the top 5 is another California product in LHP/OF
Noah Franco. Franco is a Mississippi State recruit who attends IMG Academy. Franco has a ton of projection at 6-foot-3, 170 pounds. Polished left-handed pitcher with the fastball up to 86 mph and the ability to spin the breaking ball. Franco uses the long frame well to drive downhill and get good extension. High ceiling as he continues to add strength to his frame.
