Jupiter Day One: Florida Standouts

By Doug Freeman
Florida Scouting Director

A pair of arms for FTB in 2018 RHP Jack Anderson (Jesuit HS, FL) and 2018 RHP Franco Aleman (Alonso HS, FL) lead the way for standouts from Day 1 at Jupiter for the Florida players. Both players were highlighted in the Day 1 Notebook from National Supervisor Nathan Rode found HERE. Also highlighted in his notebook is the athletic, projectable 2018 RHP Chase Costello (Pompano Beach HS, FL) and the left handed hitting 2018 OF Robby Martin (Jefferson HS, FL).

Also having impressive days as highlighted by National Crosschecker Shooter Hunt were 2018 3B Brandon Howlett (George Jenkins HS, FL) , 2018 OF/LHP Pablo Garabitos (Lakewood Ranch HS, FL) and 2018 SS Bryce Reagan (IMG Academy, FL) found HERE.  Howlett showed his big power potential with a home run, while Garabitos showed upside on the mound, and the IMG Academy transfer Reagan displayed his athleticism.

USF recruit 2018 OF/RHP Brandon Schrepf (Gulf Breeze HS, FL) started where he left off last week, showing big pull-side power with a home run in his first at bat.  A pair trio of underclass Orlando Scorpions followed in 2019 OF Jud Fabian (Trinity Catholic, FL), 2020 OF/C Dylan Crews (Lake Mary HS, FL) and 2019 C/OF Bryce Boone (Trinity Catholic, FL). All had hard hits in the game and continue to show why they're the top bats in their classes.

A few other players to stand out on Day 1 were:

+ 2019 RHP Anthony Tomczak (North Broward Prep, FL), who has an athletic frame with a short, clean arm action. The fastball worked 86-87 mph with some late life and showed a 72 mph slider. Stetson recruit.

+ 2018 LHP Reese Jackowiak (Venice HS, FL) who has a loose whippy ¾ arm on a projectable frame. Fastball worked 83-86 mph with life as showed an above average slider at 71-74 with hard, late action. Polk State recruit.

+ 2018 LHP/OF Connor Scott (Plant HS, FL) showed command to both sides of the plate with an 89-90 mph and a hard slider at 77-78 mph in his inning of work. Florida recruit.

+ 2018 RHP Wyatt Beddow (IMG Academy, FL) has a projectable frame and worked a fastball in the 89-91 mph range with tilt from a short, high ¾ arm slot. Along with a curveball at 74-76 with depth. Wake Forest recruit.

+ Uncommitted 2018 RHP Collin Camarigg (Gulf Coast HS, FL) is a bit undersized and showed scattered command, but the arm was quick and the fastball had life at 87-89 mph and showed a short slider at 76 mph.

+ 2018 Chance Huff (Niceville HS, FL) has a big, strong frame. The arm action is a bit shouldered, but the fastball worked 89-90 mph touching 92 and was heavy down in the zone. Also showed a two plane, late breaking slider at 76-78 mph. Vanderbilt recruit.
