With the 2018 MLB Draft in the rearview mirror and the summer season in full swing, it’s time to make an update to the Florida Class of 2019 Rankings. While the Top 5 remains unchanged, there has been a number of jumps made by several players into the Top 25 after standout spring seasons and strong starts to the summer. This update also features the rankings expanding to 200 players.

LHP Hunter Barco remains as the No. 1 player not only in the Florida 2019 Class, but overall as well. Below we take a look at the Top 5 with full report and video along with a look at the Top 10. Over the course of the week we will also highlight some of the newcomers and biggest risers for this update:

Hunter Barco LHP / 1B / Bolles, FL / 2019

Barco, a Florida recruit, starts the summer as the top prospect in the PBR Overall Rankings for the 2019 class. Long-limbed with a whippy left arm, Barco dominates hitters from a lower slot with a fastball that has been up as high as 94 mph. It pairs nicely with a sharp slider that has hard, late break and is nearly unhittable for left-handed hitters, at times, breaking from behind them into the strike zone. He is aggressive with his repeatable delivery, and pounds the strike zone with a firm fastball that features arm-side life. It is hard not to dream on the big left-hander as a frontline starter moving forward.

Riley Greene OF / LHP / Hagerty, FL / 2019

Greene, a Florida recruit, has risen to become the top pure hitter in the class. The left-handed hitting outfielder has a calm, confident approach with a smooth load and natural feel for the barrel. His long, athletic frame has continued to add strength, and with that, his gap-to-gap power has continued to increase. It doesn’t matter who, when or where Greene is playing, he simply hits. No competition has been too formidable, and he has shown the ability to handle, and exploit, the top pitchers in the country.

Rece Hinds SS / 3B / Niceville, FL / 2019

Hinds, a Louisiana State recruit, is the most physically-gifted prospect in the class and combines elite power with impressive athleticism. An infielder by trade, the Louisiana State recruit presents scouts with multiple options positionally, as his bat will likely carry him in the future. In an age of metrics that supports exit velocity and power projections, Hinds starts the summer as a must-follow prospect. His impressive strength combined with hitability will likely have teams dreaming of the possibilities of him hitting in the middle of their lineup in future years.

Judson Fabian OF / LHP / Trinity Catholic, FL / 2019

Fabian, a Florida recruit, is a wide-shouldered, good looking athlete.  Stands out on the field. Impressive in the outfield with a long loose arm that was very accurate. He can play centerfield now, but may continue to add to the frame and become a corner guy in the future. The ball sounds different coming off his bat, he is balanced and the bat stays in the zone for a long time.  Hands are strong, and they have advanced quickness that help make up for a load that can get segmented at times. Very quiet pre pitch. Short stride. Path works level with a high finish. Overall he's athletic with a plus bat and big potential.

Matt Allan RHP / 3B / Seminole, FL / 2019

Allan, a Florida recruit, is a polished right-hander with a workhorse frame and easy low-90s velocity as part of a strong three-pitch mix. The Florida recruit has pitchability with a chance to elevate himself even more with a strong summer.
