Team Georgia: Game One Recap
July 28, 2023
It is the first day of PBR Future Games and Georgia is taking on New Jersey. Right away Georgia set the tone for the game. Jackson Peavy pitched the first 2 innings going 1-2-3 for both of them. Georgia was able to start the game strong on offense as well. In the 1st inning Jared Glenn sent one all the way to the back wall for a RBI double getting Georgia on the board. Then in the 2nd inning Michael Hunter Stonecipher hit a double to put Georgia in scoring position to then allow John Stuetzer to score on passed ball. Dean Livingston followed Peavy, pitching the 3rd and 4th inning. Livingston produced many swing and misses with his 90-93mph fastball. He allowed only 1 run those 2 innings and was even able to pick off a runner attempting to steal. In the third Georgia put yet another run on the board with Terrance Bowen hitting a double to send John Stuetzer home again. Noah Allen took over the mound for the 5th and 6th inning with an impressive fastball/curveball combo, but could't find the zone consistently, resulting in a big inning for New Jersey. KJ Hart pitching the last 2 inning. He lived in the upper 80's and attacked the zone. He mixed in some swing and miss sliders and change ups that kept the New Jersey hitters guessing. Georgia’s offense slowed down but Michael Hunter Stonecipher got the momentum going again hitting a home run off the very first pitch of the inning in the 5th. Brady Christman then hit a RBI double with a 100EV. Speedsters, Vick Gann and Henry Akopov both had doubles on the day as well. New Jersey rallied as the game went on putting up 11 runs in just three innings to take a dominate lead over Georgia. In the bottom of the 8th Georgia went to put up 4 runs including a 3 run RBI double by John Davis. Ultimately Georgia was not able to catch up to New Jersey losing 11-9. They are looking to turn things around tomorrow against Indiana.

Smokes one into the LCF gap for an RBI double. (101 EV)
Strong frame with proportional strength. Powerful swing that allows him to drive this one into the gap. #PBRFG23 | @LakePointSports pic.twitter.com/nIkxmSVmsq

One of the purest hitters in the class sticks with his advanced approach and laces a 96.4 EV to right center for a clean inside-out barrel. Knees inside feet allow head to stay quiet while creating hip pace. Textbook. pic.twitter.com/8QJAgf5Cqd

Starting off his #PBRFG23 w/2 barrels!
Recognizes a CH & does a great job keeping his hands + weight back just long enough for a 2B.
Turned behind one for a ⚡️to the second basemen.
Dynamic swing & serious leverage. pic.twitter.com/CBJMHLXRa1

Showing off his advanced bat speed & ++ run tonight.
Rare bat speed allows him to let this ball travel deep and make a later swing decision. Coasts in for a 2B.#PBRFG23 pic.twitter.com/p81gCItAmk

XL Frame w/ long levers that he uses to his advantage . Dominant swing/miss FB that got on hitters quick. Also flashed a nice CH to keep hitters guessing.

FB: 88-92.6 whiffs. ⚡️
SL: 80-81 short, late. Upside.
Big arm talent w/ High ceiling.
Long 6’3” frame should fill much more.

Made it ?️ w/ 94.2 EV 2B & 96.9 EV ? that sent him into the stratosphere as a prospect. The story of how we found him last spring is movie like. Knows his swing better than anyone in class, becoming the king of loft!@ShooterHunt #PBRFG23 pic.twitter.com/LEo3mjOADc

Showed ultimate competitiveness by continuing to attack hitters despite not having best stuff. Nothing changes, still one of the highest ceilings in the class. Has been stellar all summer.

Rides backside in stride keeping the head quiet & beginning connection process. Shows how EZ he can manipulate and how quickly he can get to the ⚾️ in tight space when hands & barrel work as one w/ shoulder plane+rotation.@ShooterHunt @JGoetzPBR #PBRFG23 pic.twitter.com/YDmuS9XfwO
