Today, we take a look at 19 corner infielders who had impressive summers at LakePoint.

Nolen Dietz C / 1B / Heritage, TN / 2020

6/9/19 - 5-foot-11, 195 pounds. Hits from an open stance. Bat rests on shoulder until incoming pitch; simple load. Gets extension through contact. Lower half is active. Showed to be another very tough out, which seemed to be contagious for the Raider lineup.

Braden Hughes 3B / RHP / Springville , AL / 2020

6/6/19 - 6-foot-3, 180 pounds; physical stature. Hits from open, upright stance. Showed a level, aggressive swing. Barrel stays through the zone. Displayed gap-to-gap power by having multiple hard hit balls all over the field. Also showed advanced hands in the infield.

Jaylen Dickey C / 3B / McEachern, GA / 2020

6/6/19 - 5-foot-11, 180 pounds. Proportional frame with raw athleticism. At the plate, showed good bat speed. Hits off soft front-side at times; back side sinks and creates leverage. Gets good hip rotation. Strong arm from behind the plate and across the diamond. At third base, shows a glove that will develop, but the arm strength is present.

Treshaun Prupis RHP / 3B / Aiken, SC / 2020

6/15/19 - 6-foot-5 260 pounds. Strong and large presence at the plate with plus power to the pull side. Back to back impressive weekends for Prupis, he has shown to be an extra base threat every at bat. Controlled but yet aggressive swing.

Owen Powell 1B / RHP / Westside, GA / 2020

6/14/19 - 6-foot-3 210 pounds. Strong build with a plus tool in the ability to hit for power. Throws the knob and lets the barrel follow. Really quick hands allowing him to turn on the inside pitch, including a single that came off the bat at 96 mph this weekend.

Brennan Orf 3B / RHP / Westminster , MO / 2020

7/27/19 - Showed easy left-handed juice with the ability to backspin the baseball from a 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame. He tripled to the right-center field gap to go with a line drive single to center.

Thomas Chandler SS / 3B / North Cobb, GA / 2019

7/27/19 - A 5-foot-10, 180-pound infielder played well for the Yankees. At third, he moved well, coming in on multiple ground balls and getting off strong throws across. The arm works, and he should still be able to add velocity with strength gains. The bat is a little behind right now, but he demonstrated the ability to lay off tough pitches and put together overall quality at-bats. He did hit a double during his last at-bat of the day. Interesting follow for the rest of the week.

Alfonso Villalobos 3B / RHP / Chene bleu, QC / 2020

7/24/19 - A 5-foot-10, 190-pound infielder made noise with his bat in afternoon action. Villalobos is compact and direct to the baseball, and has shown the ability to get his bat head out front. He took a pitch and hit it 98 mph and off the foul pole in left-field early on, and later pulled a ball past the third-baseman displaying that same swing. It’s a definite bat to keep close tabs on going forward.

Cedric Degrandpre 1B / RHP / Academie Baseball Canada, QC / 2020

7/26/19 - It's been an outstanding week for De Grandpré at the PBR National Championships so far offensively, and it didn’t stop today. With a sturdy build and bat speed from the right-side of the plate, De Grandpré’s raw power plays. In the sixth inning of today’s matchup, he took a pitch on the inner half 335 feet away to left-field, coming off the bat at 99 mph. He is a potential middle of the order type at the next level who can change the outcome of the game with one swing of the bat.

Calvin Kowalik 3B / RHP / St. John Paul II, TX / 2020

7/26/19 - Was an interesting two-way player as well. At the plate he showed discipline, a smooth swing, and the ability to hit. He crushed a double to left off the base of the fence, and the ball was on a line the entire time. Then he stepped on the mound and sat around the 82 mph range. With a good frame on him, Kowalik needs to add some size and strength - and there’s room to do so. When he does, he’ll be an interesting player to follow.

Freddie Reams 1B / RHP / Holy Innocents' Episcopal, GA / 2020

7/26/19 - It feels like every time Freddie Reams (Holy Innocent) steps to the plate, he’s going to hit a home run, and on Day 3 he did. The uncommitted 2020 launched a no-doubt bomb to left, a two-run shot, but it wasn’t a fluke. All week he’s been finding barrel to all fields. He sets up in a strong position from the right side, he doesn’t get cheated, and he has the makings of a true power threat. The best part is this is Reams’ first year exclusively playing baseball. Reams was a football player, and has turned his attention to baseball, which by the looks of it wasn’t a bad idea.

Keegan Rich 1B / LHP / East Coweta, GA / 2020

7/26/19 - 6-foot-3, 225-pound two-way player stood out on both ends in the nightcap. At the plate, it’s an aggressive left-handed swing with loft, and the ball jumps off his bat. He drove a pitch deep to RCF off the bat at 97 mph. On the mound, he was 85-87, T88. He struggled with command today, but the arm works. He will be an interesting watch the rest of the week.

Kevin Ortiz SS / 3B / Grayson, GA / 2020

7/25/19 - An uncommitted infielder was productive on both ends of the ball. At the plate, he recorded a multiple hit game, staying inside the baseball and using the middle-opposite side of the field. The bat-to-ball abilities are evident, and he has a clear feel for hitting. In the infield, he moved well at third-base, showing the ability to gain ground and get off throws from any arm-slot. He profiles as a utility type infielder with the ability to handle both the glove and bat.

Thomas Latham SS / 3B / Chantilly , VA / 2020

7/25/19 - Has a medium frame, strong R/R 3B handles himself well around the bag at 3B and offers significant pull power. Highlighted today’s game by going deep to LF almost finding the trees deep over the left field fence.

Dominic Teoli 3B / Academie Baseball Canada, QC / 2020

7/29/19 - A two-way player for Academy Baseball Canada came up huge for them this morning. At the plate, he tied the game up with a crucial single; changing the completion of the game. He later came in out of the pen and shut the game down, pounding the zone with strikes; and ABC never looked back. Teoli is an Uncommitted 2020 grad.

Tyler McLoughlin 1B / RHP / Milton, GA / 2020

7/28/19 - Has been swinging it well all weekend. 1B/RHP has a good physical frame. Looks comfortable in the box, and has an approach. Seems like he looks for his pitch early and expands when he down in the count. Had a 1-2 single to the left side that showed some bat control.

Ian Kennedy 1B / Whitfield Academy, GA / 2020

7/26/19 - A physical specimen at a 6-foot-3, 215-pounds, athletic build with strength throughout. Made head turns in the evening slate of games with loud contact. Quick hands carry strength through contact, ball flies off the bat, is able to drive the ball even when caught off-balance. One of the top uncommitted bats at the 16U level.

Cade Johnston 1B / 3B / Niceville, FL / 2020

7/26/19 - Country strong at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, power throughout frame. Is an intimidating force at the plate, sets up with a wide stance and a bend in his knees. Power hitter, looks to get the barrel head out and do damage to the pull-side, produces backspin on fly balls.
