Capital City Open: Statistical Anaylsis

The Capital City Open took place on Monday, October 9 at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL. This event was open to all high school classes. Prospects participated in a pro-style workout in front of the PBR Illinois Scouting Staff. Today, we start the event anaylsis with a look at the top statistical performers.

Bryce Griebler (Southeast) was flat out the top runner at the event, posting a 60 yard dash time of 7.02 seconds, almost 0.30 seconds better than the next fastest runner, Lucas Ryan (Chatham-Glenwood)
Lincoln Land commit, southpaw Giuseppe Mattera (Pleasant Plains) was the top arm at the event with his 88 mph fastball. Two underclassmen Daniel Chausse (Mt. Zion) and Drew Detmers (Chatham-Glenwood) also impressed at the event, topping out at 85 mph.
Not much separated the top power bats at the event, as four prospects tied for the top exit velocity at 87 mph and another two prospects came up just short at 86 mph.
The prospects from Chatham-Glenwood took home the top four spots on infield velocity, led by
Gavin Wahlbrink at 78 mph and
Kyle Werries at 77.
Daniel Chausse (Mt. Zion) showed his arm strength makes him a legitmiate two-way player. After being clocked at 85 mph on the mound, Chausse took to the outfield to top out at 83 mph.
Lucas Ryan (Chatham-Glenwood) came away with top statistics in both catching categories. His pop time of 2.22 and velocity of 74 mph event bests.
