On Saturday, February 19th, the PBR Illinois staff will travel to the Pullman Center in Chicago, Illinois to host the fourth annual Chicago Preseason ID. This event is open to all current high school grad classes and provides us with an opportunity to check in on some of the area’s talent prior to the beginning of the IHSA season.

2022 ROSTER

Uncommitted OF William Hill (Brooks, 2023) attended this event last year and earned himself an invitation to the PBR Future Games after a standout performance. Hill is an ultra-athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete that’s a 6.61 runner in the 60-yard dash with highly projectable tools across the board. We’re eager to see him again on Saturday in the same exact setting he broke out at a year ago.

Two members of the Team Illinois Junior Future Games squad will also be in attendance on Saturday: OF/SS Derrion Howard (Leo Catholic, 2025) and MIF Phillip Thigpen (Kenwood, 2025). Both are follow names in the state’s current freshman class and we’re excited to see them again after another off-season under their belts, respectively.

Both RHP/OF Marcus Wolfe Jr. (University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, 2025) and RHP Kenneth Jackson (Simeon, 2023) impressed at the White Sox ACE Scout Day we ran last August, and they’ll be at this event on Saturday. MIF Julian Silva (Plainfield Central, 2023) is another uncommitted name on this roster that’s performed for our scouts in the past.

CHECK-IN PROCESS

Additionally, in an effort to continue and develop contactless check-in strategies, upon arrival, players will scan a QR Code with their smartphone camera that will lead them to a Google Form. On that Form, players will enter their name (matching the spelling on their PBR profile) and hit submit. Upon submission, players will be prompted to click a link that will direct them to their jersey color and number, located next to their registered name.

MORE EVENT DETAILS

Click here to learn more about our tech partners that have enhanced our players showcase experience. Partners like TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Vizual Edge have helped both our in-event evaluation process, as well the compilation of our post-event scouting reports – and they're also a tool for our players to learn more about their measured and collected data, that can be applied to improve upon their game.

Finally, masks are strongly encouraged during non-baseball activity. We will facilitate a contact-less check-in. Staff will wear masks throughout the event. Wear baseball clothes; assigned and numbered PBR jerseys will be provided.
