The Chicagoland Open took place on Sunday, August 20 at Triton College in River Grove, IL. Prospects from all classes participated in a pro-style workout in front on the PBR Scouting Staff. Today, we continue  the analysis from the event with a look at the outfielder's in attendance.

Top outfield Prospects

1. Nick Bonk, OF/RHP, Stevenson, 2018
6-foot-6, 205-pound, strong lower and upper halves, athletically-built, two-way prospect, projectable frame. Offensively, right-handed hitter, wide, crouching setup, pre-pitch load, long stride. Easy swing, long, uphill barrel path, generates bat speed, ball jumps off bat, fluid rhythm, 84 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.18 60. Defensively, long arm action, low ¾ slot, manages to stay on top of the ball, accurate on some with carry, 83 mph from the outfield. Plays through the ball, fluid footwork and clean exchanges. On the mound, high ¾ arm slot, short, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery, works on-line, lands square, finishes athletically. Fastball, run action, 85-86 mph. Curveball, 11/5 shape, short break, 71-73. Changeup, fastball arm speed, 76-79.

2. Jake Greifelt, OF, Oak Park-River Forest, 2019
5-foot-9, 165-pound, athletically-built, right-handed hitting outfielder. Defensively, short arm action, over-the-top slot, accurate with some carry, 83 mph from the outfield. Attacks the ball, plays through, quick, fluid footwork, clean exchanges. Offensively, balanced setup, short stride, maintains good balance through swing. Short barrel path, gap-to-gap approach, 83 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.23 60.

3. Cael Geijer, OF, Lincoln-Way East, 2020
5-foot-8, 154-pound, athletically-built, right-handed hitting outfielder. Defensively, short, athletic, arm action, over-the-top arm slot, accurate with carry, 85 mph from the outfield. Plays through the ball, quick footwork, quick exchanges. Offensively, balanced setup, long stride. Pull approach, long, uphill barrel path, generates bat speed, 87 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.09 60.

Michael Budorick, OF, Glenbrook South, 2020
5-foot-10, 145-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder. Defensively, short arm action, high ¾ arm slot, accurate, plays through the ball, 72 mph from the outfield. Offensively, balanced setup, leg-kick timing trigger, level barrel path, line drive approach, 73 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.66 60.

Dylan Elazegui, OF, Hinsdale Central, 2020
5-foot-7, 127-pound, athletic, left-handed hitting outfielder. Defensively, long arm action, high ¾ arm slot, accurate, 76 mph from the outfield. Plays through the ball, quick, fluid footwork, clean exchanges. Offensively, balanced setup, smooth load, leg-kick timing trigger, maintains good balance. Cole Hernandez, C/OF, Normal West, 2020
6-foot-3, 180-pound, lanky, wide frame, catcher and outfielder. Defensively, behind the plate, short arm action, over-the-top slot, accurate on some, 75 mph from the crouch. Clean exchanges, fluid footwork, recorded pop times between 2.18-2.36. In the outfield, long arm action, high ¾ slot, some carry, 77 mph from the outfield. Luke Menard, OF, Oswego, 2019
5-foot-11, 170-pound, athletic, left-handed hitting outfielder. Offensively, balanced setup, back drop, leg lift stride. Pull approach, long, uphill barrel path, consistent square contact, flashed fluid rhythm, 80 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.26 60. Defensively, right-handed, long arm action, high ¾ arm slot, accurate on some throws, 72 mph from the outfield.

Nicholas Mergenthaler, OF, Lincoln-Way East, 2020
