Chicagoland Open: Pitching Analysis

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director – Illinois/Wisconsin

It was well worth the trip for Portage Northern (MI) 2015 graduate Benjamin Keizer to attend the Chicagoland Open. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound left hander was the top pitcher in attendance and showed a wealth of projectability. His long gangly frame and wide back with a quick, loose arm action makes him a prospect to dream on for recruiters.  Also in the mix are two 2017 graduates who are already in the low 80’s with their fastball. If Tyler Woynerowski and Brady Corrigan continue to progress at that pace there is no telling how far they can go.

Here is a look at our top ten pitchers from the Chicagoland Open.
