No. 29 O’Fallon 9, Collinsville 5
O’Fallon (7-1; 1-0) knocked Collinsville (6-1; 0-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten at Blazier Park on Tuesday. Collinsville erased a 3-0 O’ Fallon lead when the Kahoks erupted for five runs in the top of the fifth. The resilient Panthers answered with six runs in the bottom of the fifth to put away the Kahoks. The six-run Panther fifth was highlighted by a two-run double from Connor Deatheridge, putting O’Fallon ahead 6-5, and a two-run triple by Brad Snyder. Brad Harrison chipped in with a pair of RBI for the Panthers. RHP Tyler Herbert (2-1) allowed no earned runs in 6.1 innings of work to pick up the win. RHP Blake Deatheridge retired the last two Kahok hitters to nail down the save. Collinsville was led by Aaron Peskar who had two singles and two RBI to lead the Kahoks.

Belleville East 7, Alton 4 (12 innings)
In the Southwestern Conference opener for both clubs, Belleville East (3-3;1-0) outlasted the Redbirds in 12 grueling innings. In the top of the twelfth, East’s Brady Schanuel’s RBI single, put the Lancers ahead 4-3. Jacob Parker drove home Schanuel with an RBI double. The Lancers made it 6-3 on a Redbird miscue and Sheldon Howard finished off the inning with an RBI double. Alton (6-3; 0-1) picked up a run in the home half of the twelfth but fell a little short. Schanuel and Howard had three hits apiece while Clint Cress had two singles and two RBI to lead Alton. RHP Schanuel allowed two runs, six hits with six strikeouts in his six solid innings in relief to pick up the win.

No. 33 Normal West 7, Pekin 6
Normal West (4-4) won in walk-off fashion in Normal on Tuesday. Tied 6-6 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, junior Cody Rogers ripped a shot inside the third baseline for a double. Junior Reid Birlingmair was intentionally walked, which brought up senior Reed Rogers to the plate. Rogers, first-pitch hunting, ripped a line single that plated Cody Rogers with a Wildcat game-winner. The Wildcats mobbed both Rogers and joy returned to the West side of Normal.
