No. 4 St. Rita 10, Reavis 0
The Mustangs opened up their 2014 campaign in style routing Reavis on Saturday. Utah-bound senior LHP C.J. Santoyo (1-0) fired four no-hit innings at the Rams with seven strikeouts.University of Notre Dame-bound 1B Jake Shepski had a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate with two singles, a double and four RBI. Last July, Shepski led the Mustangs to the 2013 Illinois High School Phil Lawler Summer State Championship. Shepski took home the Jack Kaiser Most Valuable Player Award. Tennessee-recruit junior Tyler Halas, was 2-for-2 with a double and a triple.

St. Rita (2-0) won the “Battle of the Mustangs” rolling past West behind Austin Peay-bound LHP Mike Costanzo (1-0). Costanzo allowed a run and a hit in his four innings of work Saturday. Halas continued his torrid hitting with three more hits, including a double and three RBI. Senior Nick Goldsmith hammered a three-run shot that left the premises at 7740 South Western Avenue.
