It’s been a busy week of commitments, as several ranked prospects have named their schools. A look at who’s going where:

+ Joe Becht, a left-handed hitting MIF from Downers Grove South HS, has committed to Santa Clara. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Becht, who’s ranked No. 66 in Illinois’ 2014 class, showed extremely well at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase in June. Becht is a versatile defender who can play several positions adeptly.

+ Lewis University landed a pair of ranked prospects when it received commitments from SS Neal Tyrell (Minooka HS) and RHP Dalton Hottle (Monmouth-Roseville HS). The 6-foot-1 Tyrell is currently ranked No. 101 in Illinois’ 2014 class, while the 6-foot-2 Hottle is ranked No. 106 in Illinois.

+ Trevino Rodriguez, a physical 6-foot-1, 210-pound OF/RHP from De La Salle HS, has committed to Villanova. Ranked No. 150 in Illinois’ 2015 class, Rodriguez was clocked at 87 mph from the outfield and ran a 7.21 60, while topping out at 84 on the mound at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase in June.

+ Grant Greeno, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound LHP/1B from Glenbard West HS, has committed to Brown University. The two-way standout is currently ranked No. 122 in Illinois’ 2014 class. Greeno showed well at the PBR Preseason All-State Showcase last February, when he showed three-pitch feel and a solid left-handed swing at the plate.

+ A day after the Illinois Unsigned Senior Showcase, RHP Brock Fulkerson (Mount Vernon HS) has committed to Rend Lake College. Fulkerson is an extremely projectable 6-foot-6, 150-pound right-hander who sat 82-83 mph with his fastball on Sunday at the Unsigned Senior Showcase. Fulkerson helped lead Mount Vernon to the Class 3A semifinals as a junior. Fulkerson is currently ranked No. 159 in Illinois’ 2014 class.

+ Adam Kelly, a 2B from Kenwood HS, has committed to Illinois Central College.
