Several ranked 2014 prospects have named their schools over the weekend. A look at who’s going where:
+ D.J. Lee, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound middle infielder from Lincoln-Way North HS, has committed to the University of Richmond. The left-handed hitting Lee recently had a stellar showing at the PBR Unsigned Senior Games in August, when he ran a 6.75 60, was clocked at 81 mph from shortstop, and showcased a quick left-handed swing at the plate. Lee is currently ranked No. 44 in Illinois’ 2014 class and 222 overall.
+ Micah Coffey, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound INF from Batavia HS, has committed to Minnesota. Currently ranked No. 95 in Illinois’ 2014 class, the left-handed hitting Coffey was recently featured in Illinois Insider: 10 Uncommitted 2014 Sleepers. Coffey was one of the top third baseman at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase in June.
+ J.T. Baksha, a 6-foot-1 LHP from Aurora Christian HS, has committed to Western Illinois. Currently ranked No. 69 in Illinois’ 2014 class, Baksha had previously verbally committed to Iowa as a sophomore.
+ Lavar Reed, an athletic 6-foot-2, 160-pound SS from Morgan Park HS, has committed to Hill College in Texas. Reed is currently ranked No. 56 in Illinois’ 2014 class and 268 overall.
