Prospect Identification Showcase 6.19.13: Stats Posted

The Edwardsville Prospect Identification brings out some of the top talent in the southern part of the state, this year was no different as we saw some solid numbers posted throughout the event.
This year the top 60 time was posted by Austin Werner, a 2014 graduate of Edwardsville HS, at 6.79. Werner also recorded the top exit velocity at 92 mph from the tee. Werner obviously showed off some impressive tools from his 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame.
Brenden Saak (Belleville West, 2014) had the strongest arm of the day at 87 mph from the outfield and 85 mph on the mound. Saak is currently ranked No. 169 in Illinois’ 2014 class.
Sean Mason, a 2015 catcher from Sacred Heart Griffin, also had a good statistical day. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver showed a strong arm from the crouch at 77 mph, posting pop times in the 2-flat range with an event best 1.93.
