Underclass Showcase: Preview

The Prep Baseball Report Underclass Showcase will take place on Sunday, October 22nd. The event, which is open to all 2020s and 2021s in Illinois, is being held at The Max in McCook, Illinois.
The event currently has over 90 uncommitted underclassman registered. CLICK HERE for the current roster.

Six players from last year’s event have already gone on to commit to a Division I program. RHP Xander Rojahn (Elk Grove, 2019), one of the many standouts at last year’s event, showed off a lively arm earning him an invitation to the 2017 Future Games and later committed to Arkansas. Two position players, currently in the top 10 of the Illinois 2019 rankings, OF/1B Jason Hodges (Marist) and C Tyler Snep (Lake Zurich) were also in attendance. Hogdes eventually committed to Missouri and Snep is headed to Iowa.
This year’s roster looks just as promising as last. INF Jacob Mote (Normal University), RHP Cooper Herold (Minooka), RHP Keaton Hopwood and INF/OF Tre Hondras (Homewood-Flossmoor) all will be attending and are ranked in the top 30 of the 2020 class.

Some more notable 2020s to keep an eye on are OF/LHP Isaiah Coupet (Homewood-Flossmoor), C Isaac Crabb (Harrisburg), OF Jacob Ferry (Oswego East), C Nicholas Hemken (Edwardsville), RHP/INF Ben Vitas (Providence Catholic), RHP Will Tenuta (Sandburg) and many others.

There should be plenty of other 2020s and 2021s poised to show well come Sunday.

8:20-8:40 AM
Pitcher Only:
12:15-12:30 PM
Catchers will stay for both sessions as they will also be evaluated while catching bullpens.
The event should end around 12:30 - 1:00 pm for position players. The last pitcher should conclude around 2:30 pm.
