The Prep Baseball Report Underclass Showcase at the MAX in McCook, IL will take place on Sunday, October 23, 2016. The open showcase is geared towards all uncommitted 2019 and 2020 graduates.

Last year’s event featured a number of interesting prospects in the 2018 and 2019 class and three of them have already committed to Division I programs. Six of the participants at last year’s event ended up being selected to participate at the PBR Future Games. A number of others are currently ranked in the 2018 and 2019 class respectively.

Two LHP’s Steven Sanchez (Mundelein, 2018) and Sean Sinisko (Geneva, 2018) were Team Illinois, Future Games participants and have committed to Arkansas and Illinois State, respectively.

Ultra-toolsy, SS Andrew Wiegman (Carmel Catholic, 2019), ranked No. 3 in Illinois, was another standout at last year’s event and has since committed to Louisville.

This year’s showcase has some of the better 2019 and 2020 prospects in the state of Illinois. The Underclass Showcase will be the first PBR event for many of the participants. A few notable 2020’s who we have seen include SS Jacob Mote (Normal University), C Joel Sarver (Champaign Centennial) and RHP/OF Connor Gill (Oswego East).

The PBR Scouting Staff is excited to see a lot of the newcomers to PBR this Sunday. The Underclass Showcase never disappoints in prospects emerging as the better players in their respective classes.

Check-In times for the Underclass Showcase are as follows:

Position Players:
8:20-8:40 AM

Pitcher Only:
12:00 PM-12:30 PM

Catchers will stay for both sessions as they will also be evaluated while catching bullpens.

The event should end around 12:00 pm for position players. The last pitcher should conclude around 3:00 pm
