Unsigned Senior Showcase Preview: Drake Berman

The Unsigned Senior Showcase is coming October 11 to The Max in McCook, IL. This event will bring several of the top uncommitted seniors from the state of Illinois to workout. Over the coming weeks, as we lead up to the event, we will preview several of the top players scheduled to be in attendance.

Left-handed pitcher Drake Berman will be apart of the action. Lean build 6-foot-1, 164-pound lefty works in the low 80's and recently impressed at the Chicagoland Open held on August 23rd at Standard Bank Stadium. Following the event he climbed into the top 250 rankings in Illinois.

Scouting Report: 8.23.15 - 6-foot-1, 164-pound left-handed pitcher, athletic frame. Tall and fall delivery, direction works slightly to glove side, some effort. Arm action is loose, has quickness, high ¾ slot. Fastball showed run to arm side, sat 82-83 mph, feel for the zone. Curveball has 1/7 action, flashed sharp break, thrown aggressively with hand speed, 72-74 mph, acts slider, potential swing and miss pitch. Changeup played with cut action, 72-74 mph, inconsistent command.
