Unsigned Senior Showcase: Top Overall Prospects

By Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director

The Unsigned Senior Showcase took place on October 11th at The MAX in McCook, IL. A number of prospects stood out and made a name for themselves once again at this years event. The PBR staff got together and ranked the overall top 10 from the day.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

1.
Jim Jarecki, RHP, Marquette University, 2016
Jim JareckiExtra-large frame, 6-foot-7, 220-pound right-handed pitcher, strong durable pitchers build. Tall and fall delivery with some effort, tendency to get underneath the baseball, could create additional tilt. Arm action is loose and clean, ¾ slot. Fastball played at 84-86 mph, touched 87 mph, certainly looks to have more in the tank, worked mostly top half of zone. Curveball thrown with arm speed, 75-77 mph, displayed more lateral action, occasional back-up action. Changeup had advanced action, best secondary pitch, excellent fade an arm side action, 78-80 mph, thrown with tempo and arm speed, good feel for the zone. High follow uncommitted senior with projectable arm action and untapped potential.
