After a whirlwind spring and early summer months, which included the high school season and several regional and national events, we have updated and expanded the Illinois Class of 2015 rankings to reflect the stark jumps made by many prospects.

Over the last three months, many new names have emerged, while others have catapulted up the ranks. While there are significant shakeups in the expanded Top 250 rankings, left-handed hitting SS Charlie Donovan (Westmont HS) remains the No. 1 prospect in Illinois, followed by LHP Kyle Ostrowski (Lincoln-Way North HS) and C/RHP/OF Nick Dalesandro (Joliet Catholic Academy HS).

Lincoln-Way North now boasts two of the top pitching prospects in the state, as 6-foot-8 RHP Liam Jenkins continues to make significant strides. After his performance at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase, in which he sat 90-92 mph, Jenkins jumps to No. 4.

Jenkins isn’t the only new name in the top 10. RHP Cole Bellair (Lockport HS) and LHP Kyle Shimp (Yorkville HS) also move into the top 10.

Other significant risers in the rankings include: LHP Bryan Hudson (Alton HS), RHP Cole Berry (St. Joseph-Ogden HS), C/OF David Craan (Whitney Young HS), RHP Trey Schramm (Hampshire HS), C/RHP Scott Kapers (Mount Carmel HS), LHP Alex Weigand (Bradley-Bourbonnais HS), RHP Malcolm Grady (Homewood-Flossmoor HS), RHP Chris Holba (O’Fallon HS), OF Ben Dickey (St. Viator HS), OF Jeremy Cole (Rockford East HS), RHP Jordan Johnston (Lockport HS), and SS Jordan Hovey (Edwardsville HS), to name a few.

On a whole, Illinois’ 2015 class is top-loaded with pitchers and the positional talent is thinner than past years.
