SANDBURG VS ANDREW - 3.28.19

Brendon Herrin, SS, Andrew, 2019
Evansville commit. 5-foot-11, 180-pound, well-proportioned, shortstop. Started at shortstop and hit in the two-hole for Andrew. Natural infield defender, smooth easy actions, slows the game down. Confident soft hands, can play on the move and throw from multiple slots. Loose arm action, clean release and accurate arm across the diamond. At the plate, right-handed hitter, finished 2-for-5 with a double, triple, two RBI and two runs scored. Open, quiet setup, short, uphill bat path and gap-to-gap approach.

Jimmy Carey, 3B, Andrew, 2019
St. Charles CC commit. 6-foot-1, 180-pound, strong, athletically-built, right-handed hitting third baseman. Continues to make strides in his game and carries himself with confidence on the field. Started at third base and hit in the three-hole. Crouched, open setup with pre-pitch rhythm. Quick, strong hands, creates bat speed. Hit an infield single in his first at-bat, ran a 4.38 down-the-line. Also, lined a single through the left-side of the infield in his final at-bat. Finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and a walk. Defensively, athletic actions, presents the glove wide and out front. Steady hands, works through the baseball with average arm strength across the diamond.

Josh Kirnbauer, LF, Andrew, 2020
6-foot, 180-pound, defined, athletically-built, right-handed hitting outfielder. Started in left field and hit in the five-hole for Andrew. Had a huge day offensively, going 4-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run, double, four RBI’s, four runs scored and walked one.
