There have been nine players named the Porsche Exchange Player of the Week so far this season. This past week’s winner was St. Joseph-Ogden senior RHP Dalton Parker.

Parker spun a perfect game and no-hitter last week. He threw a total of 14 innings, allowed no hits, no runs, struck out 28, and walked no one. The only batter to reach base did so via a hit-by-pitch.

Several players narrowly missed out on winning the award this week. Let’s take a look at some of the players around the state who put up impressive numbers last week:

WEEK 9

Luke Shadid, SS, Peoria Notre Dame, 2016
Bradley recruit and ranked No. 70 in Illinois. For the week, batted .688 with five doubles, three triples, eleven runs batted in and seven runs. He did not strike out in 17 plate appearances. On the mound, Shadid was 1-0, threw 5.2 innings with seven strikeouts and one earned run.

Dan Smith, C/OF, Evergreen Park, 2017
In four games last week Smith went 9-for-13 (.692 batting average), four doubles, a triple, three home runs, 10 runs batted in, seven runs and two walks. Trailing 8-2 against Reavis, Smith hit two home runs and a double to lead Evergreen Park to an 11-9 victory. For the year Smith is hitting .427, 5 HR, 13 2B, 3 3B, 29 RBI and 27 runs scored. Also, a .809 Slugging %.

Brandon Skopick, SS, Lincoln-Way East, 2016
Uncommitted. Ranked No. 126 in Illinois. Multiple hits in all four games last week. He went 8-for-13 with two doubles, five runs and two stolen bases.

Jack Lambert, LHP, St. Charles North, 2016
Parkland commit. Ranked No. 152 in Illinois. Last week in an 8-1 win over rival St. Charles East, Lambert spun a seven inning complete game. He scattered six hits, allowed one run, struck out six and walked one. He threw 61 pitches in the seven innings with 50 of them landing for strikes. On Saturday against New Trier, Lambert came out of the bullpen and threw 3.2 innings. He did not allow a hit, gave up one run, none earned, struck out four and walked one.
