Each week, IHSA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the PBR Illinois Player of the Week and PBR Illinois Pitcher of the Week honors. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 3 Player of the Week honor to C Carter VanDever (Triad, 2024) and the Pitcher of the Week honor to LHP Aidan Flinn (Marist, 2025; Illinois). VanDever went 7-for-17 at the plate with four home runs, one double, 10 RBIs and seven runs scored. Flinn through six no-hit innings against Sandburg, striking out 11 and only walking two.
