TWO-WAYS
+ RHP/1B Hunter Wiggins (Wheaton Warrenville South, 2028) was one of the day’s biggest winners and he will be a name to monitor closely moving forward. The frame is easy to dream on at 6-foot-4, 192-pounds, and the arm-talent is equally impressive. The fastball played with exploding life through the zone at 86-87 mph, topping at 88 mph. His curveball looks to be a true weapon with sharp bite and over 2,700 rpm at times - along with a sharp slider with more sweeping shape, also playing over 2,700 rpm at times. His final offering was a heavy running changeup at 76-77 mph, throwing it consistently for strikes. Wiggins also showed well from the right side of the dish. + 1B/RHP Dylan Odell (Reavis, 2028) gave an impressive look on both sides of the ball. Standing in at a strong-bodied 6-foot-2, he moves well down the mound with an explosive delivery and a long/loose arm action with a ¾ slot to pair. The fastball jumps through the zone with carry, playing at 80-81 mph with quality extension to help it play up even firmer. He also showed a bullet slider at 66-69 mph and a running changeup at 75-76 mph to go along with it. Odell was also one of the stronger right-handed hitters in attendance. He showed easy barrel strength to the middle/pull-side; averaging 89 mph off the bat, while peaking at 96.3 mph with a max distance of 335 feet. Odell also flashed advanced barrel strength, topping out at 79 mph.
+ RHP/3B Noah Zoloto (Oak Park-River Forest, 2028) is another projectable two-way that showed some intrigue on both sides of the ball, standing in at 6-foot-3, 200-pounds. On the mound, the right-hander showed a simple stretch-only delivery that worked in-line, pairing with a short/compact arm action and ¾ release. The fastball played up to 84 mph, cruising 82-83 mph with some carry/run traits through the zone. He showed some feel for his bullet slider at 73-75 mph, landing it around the zone. He also showed confidence in his running changeup at 77-78 mph, landing it in the zone consistently. Zoloto was one of the more impressive left-handed hitters in attendance for the entire event, spraying line drives to the middle/pull-side repeatedly. + UTIL/RHP Colin Stuckwisch (Joliet Catholic, 2028) looked to be one of the more impressive athletes in attendance, leading the event with a 6.67 in the 60. He also posted a max exit velocity of 91 mph from the right side. On the mound, the right-hander showed an athletic delivery with arm-speed, creating a fastball in the 80-83 mph range to pair with a curveball/slider mix.
PITCHERS
+ LHP Bryce Wojnicz (South Elgin, 2029) left a winner from the event, showing an impressive four-pitch mix for his age. There’s room to continue to fill out his 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame, and he pairs it with a clean, synced up delivery that is simple and works in-line with clean movement patterns and a loose arm. The fastball sat in the 75-76 mph range with some carry and feel for the zone, and we expect him to make jumps in the near future velocity wise. He showed the ability to consistently land his curveball for strikes, playing with bigger 1/7 shape at 60-62 mph. He also showed a sweeping slider at 62-64 mph that he flashed feel for. His final offering was a fading changeup at 66-68 mph, killing spin and flashing feel for the zone.
+ RHP Grant Roling (Wahlert Catholic (IA), 2030) made the long trip from Iowa and despite being the youngest in attendance, fit right in with the older crowd. Working exclusively out of the stretch, he showed an up-tempo delivery with a compact leg-lift into balance point, working in-line downhill with a compact arm action from a higher ¾ release. The fastball played up to 81 mph, sitting in the 78-80 mph range with straight four-seam action through the zone. The curveball looks to be a promising secondary offering with short sweeping shape at 64-67 mph, showing some feel around the zone. He rounded out his arsenal with a straight changeup at 70-72 mph with the ability to throw it for strikes.
+ LHP William Breier (Montini, 2028) and RHP Ryder Harynuk (Plainfield North, 2028) are a couple more names to know from the day that both showed well on the mound.
Breier stands in at a long-levered and projectable 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, showing a polished four-pitch mix highlighted by a fastball up to 76 mph with jumps likely in the near future.
Harynuk also has a substantial amount of upside in his frame, standing in at 6-foot-4, 180-pounds - showing a fastball that played in the low-80s with a short slider and fading changeup to pair.
