Indiana Player of the Week : Honorable Mentions Week # 3

The week three player of the week honor goes to Brett Sherard (Bloomfield HS). The Butler recruit hit .777 on the week with 8 runs batted in including a grand slam. The senior 2B/RHP also picked up two wins on the mound for the Cardinals with 23 strikeouts, 0 walks, and 1 earned run.

Cameron Bortone, 2024, 1B, Mishawaka Marian HS
The junior 1B hit .538 on the week with 3 2B, 1 HR (Grand Slam), 9 RBI, and 6 R scored.
Keegan Miller, 2024, LHP, Fairfield HS
Miller picked up two wins on the week for Fairfield HS, tossing 9 ⅓ scoreless IP, allowing just 4 H, while striking out 13.
Cohen Yoder, 2024, SS, Fairfield HS
Yoder had a big week at the plate, going 9 for 18 (.500) w/ 4 2B, 6 RBI, and 6 R scored.
AJ Budd, 2023, OF, Mishawaka HS
The senior went 7 for 8 (.875) on the week with a 2B, 2 HR, 9 RBI, and 4 R scored helping Mishawaka to two wins.
Caden McCoy, 2024, LHP/DH, Bloomington High School North
McCoy had a big week on both sides of the ball, throwing 5 IP with 0 H, 0 BB, and 0 ER, while striking out 13 in a win. The junior also went 5 for 12 (.417) with 5 R scored.
Alex Schuler, 2024, SS, Borden HS
Schuler went 6 for 7 (.857) on the week with a 2B, 5 SB, and 7 R scored.
Zachary Stawski, 2023, OF, South Bend Saint Joseph HS
In five games, Stawski batted .571 with 12 hits, 3 2B, a HR, 8 RBI, and 4 SB.
Logan Marsell, 2024, 2B/RHP, McCutcheon HS
Marsell continued his hot start to the season, as he was an honorable mention for player of the week last week, as well. This week, Marsell went 8 for 10 (.800) with 2 2B, a HR, and 5 RBI.
Jace Mayberry, 2025, C/RHP, Eastside HS
Mayberry went 5 for 10 (.500) on the week with a 2B and 2 HR. He also scored 11 R and had 5 RBI. On the mound, Mayberry picked up a complete game win, striking out 10.
Jacob Culp, 2023, RHP, Westfield HS
Culp picked up a win for Westfield this week where he threw 6 ⅔ IP, allowing just 6 H and 1 BB, while striking out 10.
Griffin Tobias, 2024, RHP/SS, Lake Central HS
Tobias tossed a complete game, no-hitter where he struck out 7 and allowed just 1 BB in a win against Valparaiso HS.
Jack Brown, 2024, RHP/OF, Fishers HS
The two-way standout makes this list after another huge week both offensively and defensively. Brown threw a complete game against Noblesville, striking out 7 in a win. He also went 7 for 13 (.538) at the plate with a 2B, 3B, and a HR, while picking up 9 RBI.
Noah McPeek, 2024, OF/DH, Fishers HS
McPeek went 7 for 13 (.538) on the week, including hitting 3 HR in one game against Greenfield-Central.
Sean Kasper, 2023, RHP/OF, Chesterton HS
Kasper threw a five inning, no-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a win over Merrillville. He also went 4 for 5 (.800) on the week at the dish.
Brandon Logan, 2025, CF, FW Snider HS
Logan had a huge week for Snider, going 8 for 13 (.615) with 3 2B, a 3B, and a HR. The sophomore also stole 5 bags, scored 10 runs, and picked up 6 RBIs.
Colton Pribyl, 2023, SS/RHP, Kankakee Valley HS
Pribyl went 10 for 15 (.667) at the plate with 2 2B, 1 HR, 9 RBI, and 6 R scored. On the mound, the senior earned a complete game win where he allowed 0 ER and just 1 BB, striking out 9.
Joseph Greene, 2023, CF/LHP, Hammond Central HS
Greene went 10 for 11 (.909) for the week, hitting 2 2B, stealing 4 bases, while scoring 8 runs. He also picked up a save on the mound for Hammond Central.
Jake Arnett, 2024, 1B/OF, Bloomington High School South
Arnett went 6 for 12 (.500) with a HR, 6 RBI, and 6 R scored.
Lincoln Cardwell, 2024, C, Northwestern HS
Cardwell makes this list for the second consecutive week, going 8 for 12 (.667) with 3 2B and a HR, driving in 6 runs.
Jette Woodward, 2024, RF/C, Warsaw HS
Woodward went 6 for 11 (.545) with a 2B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, and 7 BB on the week.
Jamison Lewis, 2024, RHP, Southwestern HS
Lewis had a strong week on the mound, picking up a win and a save, throwing 6 IP, allowing just 2 H, 0 R, and 0 BB, while striking out 8.
CJ Leiby, 2023, OF, Elkhart Christian HS
Leiby hit .714 on the week with 2 2B, 3 RBI, 6 R scored, 5 BB, and stole 6 bases.
Caden Schrader, 2024, SS/RHP, Northview HS
Schrader had impressive numbers on both sides of the ball, going 8 for 13 (.615) with 3 2B, a 3B, and a HR. He also threw 5 innings on the mound, striking out 11.
Cayden Calloway, 2023, INF/RHP, Eastern High School (Greentown)
Calloway helped Eastern to a 5-0 week and was a major contributor on both sides of the ball. He went 2-0 on the mound, striking out 19 in 12 IP without allowing an earned run. Offensively, Calloway went 7 for 14 (.500) with 4 2B, 9 RBI, 10 R scored, and 10 SB.
Devon Ortiz, 2025, C, Portage High School
Ortiz went 7 for 10 (.700) with a 2B, a 3B, and a HR, picking up 8 RBI in three games.
Blake Smythe, 2026, LHP/1B, Franklin Community HS
The freshman went 6 for 12 (.500) on the week with 2 2B, 2 HR, and 5 RBI. He also added 3 IP on the mound without allowing a hit.
Mason Braun, 2025, 1B/CF, New Prairie HS
Braun continued his hot start to the season by going 5 for 10 (.500) with 2 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, and 9 R scored.
Kaiden Underwood, 2023, RHP, Crawfordsville High School
Underwood picked up two wins on the mound this week, throwing 10 IP with 7 strikeouts. For the week, Kaiden batted .500 going 6 for 12. He had 4 runs scored and 5 RBI.
Kirk Knecht, 2024, OF, Greenfield-Central HS
Knecht went 10 for 15 (.667) on the week with 7 RBI and 10 R scored.
Kevin Reed, 2023, LHP/1B, Martinsville HS
Reed allowed just 3 H and 0 ER in a win where he threw 6 IP and struck out 12. He also went 6 for 12 (.500) on the week with 3 HR and 5 RBI.
Micah Rienstra-Kiracofe, 2024, CF, North Central HS
The junior CF went 7 for 13 (.538) with 4 HR, 11 RBI, and 10 R scored. He also threw a scoreless inning on the mound with 3 strikeouts.
Jack Ferguson, 2023, C, North Central HS
Ferguson had a monster week at the dish, going 10 for 16 (.625) with 3 2B, 2 3B, and 2 HR. Ferguson also picked up 11 RBI and 10 R in four games.
Cody Jackson, 2023, INF, Providence HS
Jackson went 7 for 11 (.636) with 2 2B, 2 HR, and 8 RBI on the week.
Mitchell Dean, 2023, LHP/1B, Western HS
Dean had a big week on both sides of the ball, earning a win in an outing where he went 5 IP with 10 K. He also went 7 for 13 (.538) on the week with 2 2B, a 3B, and 7 RBI.
Hogan Denny, 2024, C, Mooresville HS
Denny went 6 for 9 (.667) on the week with a 2B, 3 HR, 9 RBI, and 5 R scored.
Seth Hogg, 2023, RHP/1B, University HS
Hogg allowed just 1 R over the course of 8 ⅓ IP, striking out 10 batters on the week. The two-way standout also went 8 for 15 (.533) with 3 2B and a HR.
