Hit: (RHH) Capable. Started in a balanced tall stance with a small wrapping load, then used a quick toe tap stride. Quick bat speed. High finish, loose uphill swing. Gap to gap approach.
Power: 93 mph exit velocity, average 83.0 mph. 53.6 mph bat speed average. 21.7 mph hand speed average.
Defense: (IF) Sure hands, athletic footwork, natural exchange. Solid.
Arm: 81 mph infield velocity. Loose quick arm action, clean slot.

Defense: Infield, Sure hands, consistent footwork, clean exchange. Above average.
Arm: 72 Infield velocity. Short arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.

Our Lady of Providence High School, Class of 2023; 5-foot-9, 125-pound SS/2B. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 63 mph. Starts in a balanced, slightly loaded stance with his bat resting on his shoulder. Uses a bat wave in his load. Showed a line drive swing plane and a high, two-handed finish. In the infield, he showed his ability to throw 70 mph across the diamond. He moves through the ball when fielding. Fielded the ball cleanly when he was in good position. His position velocity will increase in upcoming years. During the event, he ran the 60-yard dash in 8.18.
1/6/2019: Cody Jackson, SS/2B, Our Lady of Providence HS, 2023, 5 foot 6, 120 pounds, sits back in his stance to start. Uses a slight backward lean as well as a barrel lift to load, carrying his hands forward slightly before foot strike. Cody did show good hip action and extension through to ball to produce an exit velo of 67. Plenty of room to grow for this young player.
