2015 KABC 3A All-State Teams Announced

The Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches (KABC) released their 2015 All-State teams last week. Coaches across the state nominate players for each classes All-State teams, but cannot nominate their own players. On May 23rd coaches met in Wichita to make final selections for each team.

Today we are going to take a look at the 2015 3A KABC top award winners and All-State teams. 

3A Player of the year: Brylie Ware, Sedgwick

For the second consecutive year Sedgwick SS Brylie Ware has been named KABC 3A Player of the Year. This year the class of 2015 Neosho County CC commit hit .700 with four doubles, two triples, nine home runs while driving in 29 runs. Ware walked 21 times while striking out twice and also stole 11 bases. On the mound the right-hander went 2-1 with a 1.02 ERA and five saves in five opportunities. In 27.1 innings pitched he gave up 11 hits, 16 walks while striking out 43.

3A PITCHERS OF THE YEAR: TANNER CAIRNS AND LANE FLEMING

Two pitchers share the KABC 3A Pitcher of the Year award in Wichita Independent RHP Tanner Cairns and Council Grove RHP Lane Fleming. This Spring Cairns finished the season with a 6-0 record and 0.37. The senior Emporia State commit threw 38 innings giving up 22 hits, six walks while striking out 57. Fleming posted a 9-0 record with a 0.51 ERA, tossing 57 innings giving up 45 hits, five walks while fanning 66. Over his final two high school seasons the McPherson College commit posted a 19-0 record. Fleming also swung the bat with authority this spring hitting .588 with 15 doubles, a triple, three home runs while driving in 41 runs while posting a .971 slugging percentage.

3A Coach of the year: Danny Weaver, Riverton

This May Riverton entered the 3A KSHSAA state tournament in Manhattan as the eight seed and walked away with the 3A state championship. It was the first ever baseball state championship for the Riverton. For his efforts in guiding the Rams to their best season ever, Danny Weaver has been named KABC 3A Coach of the Year.
