Missouri Class of 2025 Rankings: Update
December 8, 2022
For the last time this year, our staff has updated the state’s 2025 rankings with the offseason in full force. We’ve expanded the list to include an additional 25 players and raised a handful of prospects that performed across our fall looks, too.
The top 10 in this class remains intact from the last update and it’s shaping up to be eerily similar in terms of high-end talent and depth to the state’s 2023 group. All 10 of these prospects are slotted inside our company’s national rankings and eight of them are already committed to Power Five schools.

RISERS
Three standout names from the Fall Underclass Games climb the most in this update:
+ INF Lucas Wietholder (Father Tolton Catholic, 2025) provided us with a handful of impressive looks in 2022, starting in the spring en route to a state championship and concluding in Columbia this fall. He’s a highly projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound athlete with upside to all areas of his game, and here’s a quick nugget on him from our fall look:
“...We got yet another impressive look at this event. Wietholder’s physical upside is evident, and there’s plenty of projection left to come attached to a 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame. He continued to elevate pull-side contact in BP, staying in the zone from the right side and providing a glimpse of a potential middle-of-the-order bat at the next level. Wietholder’s sure-handed actions defensively are clear and he should stick on the left side of the infield moving forward. He’s a high ceiling prospect in Missouri’s sophomore class.”
+ OF Brandon Hill (Lee's Summit North, 2025) jumps up almost 20 spots after another quality showing in the fall. Hill, who was also a winner at the MOKAN Top Prospect Games and after a few in-game looks at Creekside, left Columbia with high praise from our scouts:
“...looked the part during Sunday’s workout. A strong 5-foot-9, 185-pound athlete with a sturdy lower half, Hill generates easy bat speed at the plate with a loose right-handed swing engineered to lift the baseball. He elevated pull-side contact throughout BP with ease, flicking balls to left field with a 326 ft. peak batted distance - the furthest batted ball of any prospect from this event. Hill floats around the outfield like a natural, and his crisp first step off contact stood out as well.”
+ RHP/INF Evan Butler (Cassville, 2025) climbs roughly 10 slots, emerging the Fall Underclass Games as an intriguing two-way follow in the state. Butler’s polish, fluidity, and aptitude to spin on the mound are evident, and swings a loose clean right-handed bat to pair. A note on him from that September 11th look:
“...was another prospect with two-way talents to note from this event. At 6-foot, 155-pounds, Butler started his day by taking a clean round of BP, working with intent to the pull-side and peppering line drives that way. He’s athletic at the plate with a simple, loose right-handed stroke. Butler hopped on the mound later and pitched in the low-80s with his fastball, generating heavy arm-side action with late life on occasion. He spun a 2,500+ RPM slider in the high-60s and threw his changeup at arm speed in the mid-70s.”
Two players that stood out at the Competitive Edge Scout Day rise up these rankings too:
+ C Mason Jeffers (Liberty, 2025) has plenty of projectability surrounding a long, lanky 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame, and he’s rising up this board after a quality fall. Jeffers is comfortable elevating the baseball at the moment, particularly to the pull-side, and his ability to do so should prove more relevant as Jeffers adds thump by filling out his frame. We’re excited to see his improvements after the winter and he’s a backstop to follow in this state's sophomore crop.
+ INF Dayton Doll (Platte County, 2025) capped an impressive year with yet another strong look at this event. Doll helped lead the Pirates to the 5A state championship in the spring as a freshman, and he also played a role on the school’s football team out of the backfield in the fall, too. Doll’s athleticism is evident when you watch him play and he swings a fast right-handed bat while consistently producing quality contact off the barrel. He’s fluid on the infield as well, moving in rhythm with soft, sure-handed actions to pair defensively. Doll could climb further up this list down the road and he’ll certainly be one to watch with another off-season under his belt.
NEWCOMERS
With this update we’ve welcomed plenty of fresh faces to the state’s 2025 board:
+ LHP Ethan Rogers (Lone Jack, 2025) debuts as the highest ranked newcomer in this update, slotting inside the state’s to 35 prospects. The 6-foot, 150-pound highly projectable southpaw made his PBR debut at the Yard Baseball Club Scout Day, pitching at 82-84 mph with his fastball while flashing some aptitude to spin a low-70s breaking ball with intent. What Rogers showed in this look coupled with his projectability has him trending upward in a major way this off-season, slotting himself comfortably near some of the state’s high-end left-handed arms.
+ RHP Camden Lohman (Fort Zumwalt North, 2025) came away from this fall's St. Louis Open as one of its' biggest winners. He showed a relatively high ceiling attached to a 6-foot-2, 160-pound frame:
"...pitched in the low-80s with his fastball, topping at 84 mph, and showed foreseeable upside on a long-limbed 6-foot-2, 160-pound frame. He controlled those lanky levers well downhill and maintained momentum towards his target while working the zone with his fastball. Though still developing his secondaries, Lohman’s size and projectability have our scouts intrigued as we enter the off-season."
+ 1B/RHP Matthew States (Father Tolton Catholic, 2025) looked the part at two different events this fall, first at the Fall Underclass Games and again at our St. Louis Open. Our nugget on States from that October 23rd look:
“...a name we’ve become increasingly familiar with throughout the season and he showed well in this weekend’s most recent look. States, who’s built at a strong, well-proportioned 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, worked the middle of the field in BP, keeping his barrel through the zone with length and recording a 92.1 mph max exit velocity. He hopped on the mound later in his workout and ran his fastball up to 82 mph while spinning a high-60s curveball with 14+ inches of horizontal movement on average. We’ll be eager to see the improvements he’s made after the off-season during our winter circuit.”
+ C Easton Phillippe (Staley, 2024) is a left-handed hitting backstop that came away a major winner from the Fall Underclass Games, landing on these rankings as a result. Phillippe caught our attention at Creekside earlier this summer and he solidified his prospect status with a strong look in Columbia. Our staff had this to say about him on that day:
“...looked the part in multiple aspects of his game at this event. Phillippe’s glove may be his biggest asset and he showed that during his workout, peppering accurate throws on the bag from a loose, clean arm while popping in the 1.94-to-2.01 range. He’s a quality receiver too, working down-to-up with strong wrists and soft hands to pair. At the plate, Phillippe swings a compact left-handed bat and is comfortable working the other way with line drive feel.”
+ INF Mason Stover (Blue Springs South, 2025) also jumps on our board for the first time in this update after a quality look at the Yard Baseball Club Scout Day. There, Stover showed a short, loose left-handed bat without much added movement. He ranged well laterally on the infield as well with quick feet that work in rhythm.
+ OF Peyton Kight (Jackson R2, 2025) made his PBR debut this fall and provided us a glimpse on the future upside tacked onto a 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame. He's one of our highest ranked newcomers after a strong showing at the St. Louis Open:
"...looks the part of an upside prospect in Missouri’s 2025 class. Kight, who stands at a highly projectable 6-foot-4, 180-pounds, whipped balls off his barrel to the pull-side throughout BP from a loose right-handed swing. The ease in which he worked coupled with the extension Kight created through the zone suggests a relatively intriguing power profile should he continue to tack on strength over the years. Kight showed a similarly loose presence in the outfield, working through the baseball and confidently covering ground. A former quarterback, Kight left this event a winner in our scouts’ eyes."
+ LHP Ty Earwood (St. Pius X, 2025) can flat-out pitch, working the zone with his entire arsenal and spinning the baseball at an advanced rate. Earwood’s performance at Creekside this summer got him on our radar and his high feel to get outs on the mound proved at our Fall Underclass Games. There, Earwood was amongst the day’s top arms, earning high praise from our scouts:
“...continued to show our staff advanced polish and pitchability for his age. A projectable southpaw that should grow and physically mature over the next few years, Earwood consistently pumped his fastball for strikes, working east-to-west. He pitched backwards with both of his breaking balls, spinning them from a similar velocity band at 2,500+ RPM for strikes. His ability to compete and pitch right now is obvious, and he’ll tap into a much higher ceiling down the road should he tick up in velocity.”
+ OF Brody Signorelli (Fort Zumwalt West, 2025) also debuted to our staff this fall, earning a spot on this update after the St. Louis Open, where the left/left outfielder was amongst the top prospects in attendance:
"...left a positive impression on our scouts after a strong performance at his first PBR event. An athletic 5-foot-11, 150-pound with room to fill out, Signorelli worked the pull-side from a quick, uphill left-handed swing. He moved around the outfield in a fluid manner, reaching back for an 83 mph high on his firmest bullet, too. A projectable athlete capable of tacking on quality strength with a productive winter, Signorelli is a follow name in Missouri’s sophomore class."
+ 1B Jackson Tankesley (Liberty, 2025) swung a strong right-handed bat at the Fall Underclass Games this fall, earning a mention within our takeaways piece from the event:
“...continuously worked line drives to the pull-side in BP, repeating a level, athletic right-handed stroke with loose hands to pair. Built at a strong 6-foot, 175-pounds, Tankesley recorded one of the day’s hardest-hit balls at 91.5 mph and emerged a follow offensive prospect from this event.”
+ An upside 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete, INF Jackson Akin (Lee’s Summit West, 2025) showed us plenty to project on this fall, staking his claim on these class rankings:
“...displayed an upside offensive profile at this event, both in BP and during the gameplay portion. Akin looks the part in a uniform, standing at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds with strength in the lower half and plenty of room to tack on more muscle. He backspun line drives in BP, working gap-to-gap and keeping his barrel in the zone through contact. He’ll likely impact the ball with more authority down the road should he fill out his frame more, upping his all-around ceiling at the plate. Akin showed well defensively, making a handful of plays on the left side of the infield with clean footwork and steady hands.”
+ INF Casen Lett (Park Hill South, 2025) was another winner from that aforementioned Competitive Edge Scout Day. He’s a lean 5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete with physical projection that swings an athletic right-handed bat, performing at Creekside in prior looks, too.
