A star for runner-up Francis Howell this spring, OF Leo Humbert (2025) impressed across multiple looks this year, now occupying the seventh on our updated board. Humbert played a pivotal role on the Vikings’ impressive season, batting .385 with a .494 on-base percentage over 160 plate appearances as a freshman. He’s one of the state’s toolsiest athletes and is capable of impacting the game in multiple ways as a result. Humbert thumped balls when we saw him this year, flew around the entire field, and threw a handful of runners out from center field, too. At 6-foot, 185-pounds, Humbert’s one of the top uncommitted position players in Missouri.

Body: 6-foot, 175-pound athletic and projectable frame with room for added strength and size in the future
Hit: RHH. At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and athletic posture. Hands get set deep and back with a vertical bat angle. Smooth rhythm throughout the swing with a short leg lift stride and body drifting into a firm front leg. Shows some strength at contact. Hands work very quickly through the zone and shows good overall bat speed. Strong rotational acceleration metrics and good balance throughout the swing.
Power: 94 mph exit velocity in BP.
Arm: LH. OF-84 mph. Over the top arm slot with a clean arma action and good hand speed.
Defense: In the outfield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and short and choppy footwork. Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with a feel for glove action and soft hands. Utilizes a shuffle crow hop technique with good momentum headed towards the target and good carry on the throw.
Run: 7.26 runner in the 60.
Delivery: On the mound uses a short rocker style footwork around the rubber working to a mid height balance point. Maintains upright posture throughout the delivery. Tall and fall style down the slope with long stride and good extension. High glove side with smooth hand break at the top of the delivery. Works from the third base side of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound with good momentum headed towards the plate.

Starts in a wide stance with a controlled load, then uses a leg kick before his swing. Bat speed was above average, had short swing plane and level finish. Barreled up some balls with loud contact. Up the middle approach. Above average while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 61 mph; showed sure hands, rhythmic feet and a clean exchange. Throws from an-over-the-top slot. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.65. Where he showed some arm speed, also used an over-the-top arm angle and a short arm action. Slow-tempo type pitcher and shows easy effort. In line shoulders with athletic balance point. Lands square with a clean finish. Fastball keeps its plane. Shows early action and in the zone control on his curveball .
