Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day on February 19 at All-Star Sports in St. Louis, Missouri.  Over 60 players attended the event in the 2022 to 2019 classes. 

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.

Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos.  Today will take a closer look at the catchers from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

Catchers

Reagan Andrew C / SS / MICDS, MO / 2022

Andrew is a 5-foot-7 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri's 2022 class.  He ran a 4.24 home to first and has a 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced and thin set up in base, toe tap, in line stride, some hand load, swing produced mostly middle to pull side contact.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.19 and 2.40-seconds, 68 mph positional velocity, slightly offset feet in set up, high three quarters arm slot, clean exchange, feet create momentum to throw, somewhat accurate throws with carry.

Hyrum Bishop C / OF / Montgomery , MO / 2019

Bishop is an athletically built 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 4.05 home to first and has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, some pre-pitch rhythm in hands, in line stride, level swing path, swing produced mostly line drives and flat contact gap to gap.  Behind the plate, high three quarters arm slot, pop times at 1.96 to 2.15-seconds, 78 mph positional velocity, quick hands and feet with aggressive catch and throw, hands and feet in sync and under control, soft hands, mostly accurate throws with carry.

Geoffrey Camfield C / RHP / Chaminade, MO / 2019

Camfield is a long and lean 6-foot-2 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 4.66 home to first and has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, smooth and accelerated tempo, level path through , showed pull side power, consistent hard contact to the middle and pull side, has feel for the barrel.  Behind the plate, pop times between 1.99 and 2.19-seconds, 76 mph positional velocity, over the top release, clean exchanges, arm works and has arm strength, fluid footwork with athletic actions, mostly accurate throws with carry.

Nate Gardner C / 3B / Mehlville , MO / 2020

Gardner is a 5-foot-11 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 4.50 home to first and has an 81 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, hands walk way from stride, level path, body stays under control, mostly pull side line drives with occasional oppo gap line drive during hitting evals.  Behind the plate, 2.13 to 2.32 pop times, 70 mph positional velocity, thin and staggered in set up, high three quarters arm slot, clean exchanges, quick jab step on time with transfer, throws are mostly accurate.

Tyler Gilmer C / RHP / Sikeston, MO / 2021

Gilmore is a 5-foot-11 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2021 class had a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts loaded on back side, minimal load and hand movement, no wasted movement, hands control the bat head creating some whip, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.30 and 2.45-seconds, over the top arm slot, fluid footwork and exchange, creates some momentum with feet to throws, mostly accurate throws with carry to the bag.

Anthony Tony Lindwedel C / OF / SLUH, MO / 2020

Lindwedel is a 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 4.25 home to first and has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly open, calm leg lift with minimal weight shit and hand movement, efficient path to contact, stays on ball after contact, repeats swing, hard consistent contact during hitting evals, uses the middle of the field with pull side power. Behind the plate, pop times between 2.07 and 2.17-seconds, 75 mph positional velocity, short over the top release, squares shoulders with momentum in footwork, smooth transfer and throw, mostly accurate throws.

Andrew Loeffelman C / OF / SLUH, MO / 2021

Loeffelman is a 6-foot 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 4.40 home to first and has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts tall and slightly open, controlled leg lift, in line stride, aggressive swing, quick hands, gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, 2.28 to 2.41-second pop times, 67 mph high three quarters arm slot, fluid transfers with fluid footwork, feet create momentum to throw, mostly accurate throws, athletic build still developing physically.

Aaron Moss C / SS / Lindbergh , MO / 2021

Moss is a 5-foot-9 140-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.16 home to first and has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly open, minimal and calm load, loose hand with feel for the barrel, level path through the zone with higher finish, has range in swing, gap to gap approach, consistent hard contact.  Behind the plate, 1.97-to-2.05 pop times, 77 mph positional velocity, smooth exchange on time with fluid footwork, stays under control with feet creating momentum to throw, accurate thrower.

Josh Papenberg C / SS / Gibault Catholic , IL / 2020

Papenberg is a long and lean 6-foot- 150-pound left-handed hitting catcher in Illinois’ 2020 class.  He ran a 4.43 home to first and has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly open, smooth load with weight shift and some hand load, in line stride, accelerates to contact, hard middle to pull side contact with the ability to go the other way.  Behind the plate, 2.13 and 2.31-second pop times, 68 mph positional velocity, short over the top arm slot, quick catch and throw, short and quick first step creating momentum, athletic actions, throws are mostly accurate, projectable with lean build and athletic actions.

William Pyatt C / 1B / Vianney, MO / 2019

Pyatt is a strong 5-foot-10 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 4.56 home to first and has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, simple and repeatable, athletic and crouched stance, short in line stride, no wasted movement, loose hands stay on ball after contact, creates back spin line drives gap to gap, attacks ball.  Behind the plate, 2.02 to 2.22-seconds, 74 mph positional velocity, quick loose arm action, exchange and feet on time together, clean exchanges, aggressive out of the croutch, mostly accurate throws, flashing carry.

TJ Racherbaumer C / 3B / Hermann , MO / 2021

Racherbaumer is a 5-foot-8 160-pound left-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 4.72 home to first and has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in an open and crouched stance, controlled in line stride, quiet hands, level path through contact, loose and accelerated hands.  Behind the plate, 2.09 to 2.30-second pop times, 70 mph positional velocity, thin and square set up in base, aggressive thrower with quick arm speed, quick catch and throw, athletic footwork, mostly accurate throws.  

Grant Tebeau C / 1B / CBC, MO / 2019

Tebeau is a well built 6-foot 205-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 4.09 home to first and has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, no wasted movement in load, reverse toe tap, quick and loose hands, creates bat whip and bat speed, hard middle to pull side contact, power to the pull gap, attacks ball, aggressive with control.  Behind the plate, 2.09 to 2.17-second pop times, 73 mph positional velocity, slightly staggered in base, high three quarters arm slot, quick catch and throw, fluid footwork, clean exchanges, arm works, loose action, mostly accurate throws, some with carry.

Landon Tenkhoff C / OF / Chaffee , MO / 2019

Tenkhoff is a physical 6-goot-2 195-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 4.30 home to first and has a 95 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, simple and repeatable with no wasted movement, quick hands with level path, loud contact during hitting evals, consistent and hard contact with power to the pull gap, mostly middle to pull line drives, strong hands.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.05 and 2.17-seconds, 77 mph positional velo, over the top arm slot, quick and short first step, fluid exchanges, feet create momentum to throw, loose arm action, arm works, accurate throws with carry to the bag. 

Carson Wiser C / 3B / Carlinville, IL / 2022

Wiser is a 5-foot-8 163-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Illinois’ 2022 class.  He ran a 4.50 home to first and has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, athletic and balanced set up, quiet and repeatable load, in line stride, quick hands with level path, middle to pull side contact with ability to go the other way as he continues to develop.  Behind the plate, 2.18 to 2.25 pop times, 72 mph positional velocity, sits high in set up, short over the top release, quick catch and throw, strong and athletic 2022 player still developing with already athletic actions.
