2/19/18 - Papenberg is a long and lean 6-foot- 150-pound left-handed hitting catcher in Illinois’ 2020 class.  He ran a 4.43 home to first and has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly open, smooth load with weight shift and some hand load, in line stride, accelerates to contact, hard middle to pull side contact with the ability to go the other way.  Behind the plate, 2.13 and 2.31-second pop times, 68 mph positional velocity, short over the top arm slot, quick catch and throw, short and quick first step creating momentum, athletic actions, throws are mostly accurate, projectable with lean build and athletic actions.
