Scouting Report

2/20/17 - Bryne is a 6-foot 205-pound right-handed hitting catcher and third baseman in Missouri’s 2019 class and is committed to Indiana. Bryne ran a 4.90 home to first and has an exit velocity of 96 mph.  At the plate, showed mostly pull side power, quick hands and bat speed, aggressive, starts balanced, leg kick, minimal hand movement, consistent hard contact.  Behind the plate, pop times between 1.88 and 1.97-seconds, 82 mph positional velo, stays low, momentum through the catch, short thigh three quarters release, quick catch and throw, accurate throws to the bag. On the infield, 86 mph positional velo, over the top release, athletic footwork, momentum after the catch, clean exchange, soft hands.

8/4/16- Bryne, committed to Indiana shortly after the event, had pop times of 2.00-2.04-seconds.  His 80 mph positional velo was among the best of the event.  Bryne registered a team-high 96 mph exit velo and ran a 7.79 60.  Walked against Team Select.

1/31/16 - Byrne is a 5-foot-11 185-pound right-handed hitting third baseman and catcher. Bryne ran a 7.88 60 and had an exit velo of 89 mph.  At the plate, starts in wide stance, loads into back leg, short stride, quick hands, level path to extension, power to pull side, gap-to-gap approach.  On the infield, 80 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, fluid footwork to the ball, momentum towards target, accurate throws. Behind the plate, 1.96 to 2.03 pop times, 78 mph positional velo, top velo and pop times for the event, over the top release, quick transfer with quick feet, somewhat accurate throws. Player to watch in 2019 class.
