Prep Baseball Report

Justin Jarvis - PBR Player of the Week for FEB 28 - MAR 4

Brandon Hall
Prep Baseball Report of NC

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by High School coaches across North Carolina each week.  Along with the nominations, Prep Baseball Report is diving into box scores, talking to coaches and scouts, and attending as many games as possible.

The first week of high schools games was just a partial week, with almost every team working to play a couple of games in the Wednesday - Saturday time frame.  Several pitchers came out in mid season form with multiple no-hitters being recorded.

One arm stood out above the rest as Justin Jarvis (RHP, 2018, Lake Norman HS), a UNC Wilmington commit, earned perfection in his first start of the year.  Jarvis threw all 7 innings, using 89 pitches, while striking out 18 East Rowan HS hitters. Reports of a lethal fastball - curveball combination, generated swing and miss and freeze.

Lake Norman played in the 4A Western Regional Final in 2017, dropping the series to the eventual State Champion, TC Roberson.  Jarvis joins the program this year, which returns a large core of players from 2017. Expectations are high and Jarvis’ outing does nothing but elevate the expectations for 2018.
