Cape Cod: Starred as a fourth-year junior at UNC Asheville this spring (8-3, 2.24 in 88.1 innings) and then opted to transfer to Mercer for next season. With a thick, strong 5-foot-9, 192-pound frame, Edwards has good deception in his high three-quarters delivery and is a surprisingly athletic defender off the mound. We saw him attack at 88-91 with a very good 84-86 mph slider with late tilt (spin in the 2400s). His feel to spin the ball also allows him to throw a power curve at 79-83 with more downer action and tight spin into the 2700s. And he mixed in a changeup at 87.
