Nick Fajardo - PBR Player of the Week for March 5 - 11, 2018

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by High School coaches across North Carolina each week.  Along with the nominations, Prep Baseball Report is diving into box scores, talking to coaches and scouts, and attending as many games as possible.

The week of March 5 - 11 brought about some cold weather as many programs kicked off their conference slate across the state.  The end of the week also saw the first PBR/NCBCA Team Polls for 2018. Spring is here, kind of, and high school baseball is heating up.

It was a huge week for several players across North Carolina.  Several pitchers recorded perfect games and no-hitters. Multiple arms reached double digit strikeouts.  Offensively, several hitters were able to carry their unit during the week.

For the week of March 5 - 11, Durham Jordan HS Outfielder, Nick Fajardo (2018 grad), a North Carolina Central commit, has been named the PBR Player of the week.  In three games, Fajardo sparked an offense that scored 19 runs. Fajardo was on base and scored runs, but the pressure he applied to opposing teams may have been the difference for him this week, as he totaled seven stolen bases.  Jordan went 2-1 on the week, recording a win over a team receiving votes this week in the PBR/NCBCA Team Poll. Jordan checks in at No. 10 in the 4A poll.
