2021 Scout Day: Boston Prime - Quick Hits

THE BATS

  • Sean O’Connor, SS/2B, R/R, 2022 - O’Connor showed a quick bat and the ability to drive balls to the pull side.
  • Joey Borelli, LHP/OF, L/L, 2022 - Borelli uses a flat stroke and quick hands to generate pop from the left side.
  • Jack McNicholl, OF, R/R, 2022 - McNichol gets real leverage with his swing, creating a lot of loud contact.
  • Bob Taylor, C/3B, R/R, Newton South HS, 2022 - Taylor is a big, physical presence at the plate. He’s able to generate a lot of torque with his swing.
  • Victor Caira, RHP/C, R/R, Newton North HS, 2023 - Caira uses his long limbs to create good leverage with his swing. The ball jumps off his bat.

THE ARMS

  • Joey Borelli, LHP/OF, L/L, 2022 - Borelli throws a heavy fastball out of an over-the-top slot. The breaking ball is a good pitch and the change up has good action.
  • Casey Williams, LHP/1B, L/L, Watertown HS, 2023 - Williams is a talented young left-hander. The arm slot produces late sink on the fastball and the change up has a chance to be a good pitch.
  • Leander Goessling, RHP/3B, R/R, Brookline HS, 2023 - Goessling uses his long limbs and over-the-top delivery to produce a lot of downward action on his fastball. As he matures physically, his velocity should make drastic jumps.

THE DEFENDERS

  • Owen Brazee, C/OF, R/R, Bedford HS, 2023 - Brazee is an athlete behind the plate. His feet are light, he transitions well and the arm is loose.
  • Jack Farrell, C, R/R, Belmont Hill HS, 2023 - Farrell has good actions behind the plate. He showed soft hands, athletic feet and a good arm.
