(#3) Desert Oasis vs. Chaminade (CA) - Game Notes

Jake Cook C / 3B / Desert Oasis, NV / 2023

The Shoreline CC recruit got shifted up into the leadoff spot and took not time to settle in as he had himself a day yesterday, going a perfect 5 for 5 with two triples, two double and a single, bringing in six runs in the process. The 2022 West Coast Games alum has exploded on the offensive side of the ball this Spring, leading his team runs, hits and doubles while hitting a team best .409 through his 22 games played. Along his breakout year on the offensive side of the ball, Cook has put his athleticism on display with a number of games played at second base, proving his will be able to do both at the next level. Keep tabs on Cook as we near the playoffs because as he goes the D-Backs go.

Noah Griffith SS / RHP / Desert Oasis, NV / 2024

The junior seems to have settled in nicely into his new role in the three hole, showing flashes of his power potential to the big part of the yard as he helped extend the Desert Oasis lead with a homerun to centerfield. The 6-foot-0, 165 pound infielder has started to fill out his frame with plenty of room to add size and strength that we expect his power at the plate to parallel over the next year. His offensive improvements are something to note, but don't sleep on his defense that has shown obvious progress in his fluidity through the ball with increased range to both side.
