Nevada ProCase Preview: Garrett Cutting

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

Garrett Cutting comes into the PBR Nevada ProCase as the #1 Ranked prospect in the 2021 Class with present next level tools on both sides of the ball. The future Oregon Duck has proven his ability at the plate throughout his prep career earning him First Team - All State honors as a sophomore where he hit just shy of .500 (.495) on the year. The Arbor View product has added some physicality to his 5-foot-11 frame that has helped amplify each part of his game. Over the past year, we have seen his power potential develop into present power with a 100 mph Exit Velocity via TrackMan, especially to the pull side as he left the yard multiple times during his batting practice session at the Nevada Top Prospect a few months ago. His quiet, repeatable swing is one that will need minimal mechanical adjustments to have success beyond high school. Defensively, Cutting has come into his own as a middle infielder with the athleticism and range to keep him at a premium position at shortstop with a PBR Verified 87 mph across the diamond. This a prospect that has been consistent throughout his prep career with projectable tools throughout his game and looks to carry that into the into the PBR Nevada ProCase.
